ResponsibilitiesHowmet Aerospace Structures is seeking a Director of Metallurgy &amp; Quality to oversee the Metallurgy, Quality Assurance, NDT, Materials Testing &amp; Certifications teams at the Niles, OH manufacturing facility. &nbsp;Responsibilities<ul> <li>Strategic leadership for Metallurgy, Quality Management System (AS9100), NDT, and Materials Testing &amp; Certification. Develop and implement training to advance these skillsets.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide technical leadership and expertise during interactions with strategic customers</li> <li>Provide technical and quality assurance support to other Howmet Aerospace Structures facilities (Martinsville, VA, Canton, OH and Washington, MO)</li> <li>Develop overall Product Quality Plan, and Implement/maintain systems &amp; processes with both internal and external suppliers to ensure product quality</li> <li>Work with engineering, production, and marketing staff to determine quality requirements for new and existing products</li> <li>Develop a team of highly motivated quality professionals to continuously improve the QMS</li> <li>Ensure compliance to AS9100, NADCAP (MTL, NDT, Heat Treating disciplines)</li> <li>Champion the use of PFMEA in manufacturing.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide and direct resources for formal Root Cause &amp; Corrective Action in an aerospace products manufacturing environment</li> <li>Ensure there are trained resources to execute the internal audit schedule developed by QA and Operations</li> <li>Drive technology improvements in laboratory testing and NDT through capital justifications</li> <li>Leading Change Management Process to ensure continuous improvements while ensuring total internal and external customer satisfaction. Ability to integrate resources together from inside and outside the company</li> <li>Understanding of financial and non-financial metrics necessary to achieve high quality performance</li> <li>Diverse leadership experience in areas of Engineering, Planning, Financial, Manufacturing or Technical areas</li> <li>Maintain a shop-floor presence to drive improvements in quality across all manufacturing segments within the Niles, OH facility. Provide technical and QMS support to leadership at other Howmet Aerospace Structures facilities.&nbsp;</li></ul>QualificationsMinimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Metallurgy or Materials Science is required. Graduate Degree in Engineering or Materials Science is highly preferred.</li> <li>Demonstrated subject matter expertise in titanium physical metallurgy, with a thorough understanding of processing/mechanical property relationships.</li> <li>Strong leadership qualities, including the ability to build a high-impact team, envisioning and articulating the strategy, and passionately owning and driving the team towards achievement.</li> <li>Minimum 10 years of experience leading Metallurgy and Quality organizations for systems, processes, and products, preferably in an organization manufacturing aerospace product.</li> <li>Working knowledge of melting and hot working practices used in the manufacturing of aerospace materials, preferably focused on titanium alloys and products.&nbsp;</li> <li>Experience implementing quality systems (AS9100) and leading change through strategic direction</li> <li>Strong command of aerospace material and quality specifications (AMS, ASTM, AS9100)</li> <li>Experience with NADCAP MTL, NDT, and Heat Treatment accreditation processes</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with and influence the decision making of Senior Management</li></ul>Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
