WHO WE ARE The State Codes and Standards Committee is a *twenty-three member committee responsible for the adoption of a State Building Code and a State Fire Safety Code based on nationally recognized model codes and related activities. The committee members each contribute to code adoption through their representation of their respective areas, as well as doing the national model code review and revisions. POSITION DETAILS Members of the State Codes and Standards Committee meet monthly to review progress of building and fire safety code development efforts, updates on appeals against local and state code officials’ decisions and complaints about local building and fire code officials. The subcommittee meetings are concentrated in approximately 18-months of a three-year code development cycle.
