ResponsibilitiesJob SummaryThis position is responsible for facilitating the implementation and maintenance of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems, including Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, and Medical programs at the Howmet-Waco facility. The successful senior scientist will work with colleagues throughout BMS to establish assays using immunohistochemistry, multiplex staining/imaging, in situ nucleic acid hybridization, and digital pathology. The senior scientist will be directly responsible for the design, development, execution, and analysis of discovery and translational tissue-based biomarker assays to interrogate target prevalence, target engagement, mechanisms of action, pharmacodynamics, ­­and prediction of treatment response. The position entails working on multiple projects independently and in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of pathologists, IHC lab scientists, biologists, and in vivo pharmacologists, etc. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in IHC assay development and validation, including antibody screening, chromogenic and multiplexed immunofluorescence assays, digital pathology/image analysis, and novel tissue-based technologies such as PhenoCycler Fusion and Xenium, with a working knowledge of histology/morphology/pathology and data interpretation. The senior scientist will have accountability for assays transferred to partner labs and contract research organizations.
