Job Purpose:&nbsp;Develop and teach courses in the nursing discipline in classroom/laboratory/clinical settings.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Develop and teach courses in the nursing discipline in classroom/laboratory/clinical settings with particular emphasis on fundamentals and medical/surgical nursing. Instruction in other specialty areas may be required. May teach large or small groups.</li>
<li>Prepare course syllabi, course materials, and examinations. Collaborative teaching with a team of peers.</li>
<li>Participate in student curriculum development, recruiting, student advising, departmental and divisional meetings, and college boards and committees as well as accreditation activities.</li>
<li>Evaluate student learning and maintain class records.</li>
<li>Advise nursing and health program majors.</li>
<li>Establish and maintain partnerships with clinical agencies to facilitate student clinical learning experiences.</li>
<li>Establish and complete goals and objectives for the individual and department.</li>
<li>Assess educational outcome measures and complete academic reporting as required.</li>
<li>Provide instruction in technology enhanced class settings including interactive streaming and online distance technology as well as instruction with simulation clinical equipment.</li>

Required Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Minimum of a Master’s degree in nursing from a regionally accredited institution. 
</li>
<li>Minimum of three years recent clinical experience. 
</li>
<li>Possess current license as a nurse in Tennessee (or be licensure eligible). 
</li>
<li>Teaching experience with a group of individuals. 
</li>
<li>Have ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with others. 
</li>
