Position Summary: Provide guidance, instruction, and leadership to registered nursing enrolled in the clinical component of the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program. Assists with evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with college faculty, staff, students, the general public, program advisory committees, and other health care professionals. Endorsed with appropriate credentials of RN licensure in Tennessee, CPR certification for health care professionals and advanced preparation and experience in one of following areas: Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Psychiatric/Mental Health or Adult Acute Care.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Instruction and supervision of registered nursing students in the clinical agency in one of the following nursing areas: Medical-Surgical, Obstetrics and Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Mental Health/Psychiatric, Geriatrics. 2. Instruct and supervise R.N. nursing students in the clinical agency. 3. Function under the direction of the course faculty or Dean of Nursing for the course. 4. Participate in departmental activities associated with the instructional program. 5. Participate in departmental activities associated with the instructional program. 6. Participate in departmental activities associated with the instructional program needs. 7. Communicate clearly with students and colleagues. 8. Work effectively with traditional and non-traditional students including but not limited to the culturally and ethnically diverse. 9. Participate in professional organizations related to nursing and teaching. 10. Adapt to changes in the nursing program. 11. Schedule two office hours.
Required Qualifications: A. RN with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college/university required B. Three years’ clinical experience required

Job Duties
<ul>
<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Nursing.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.</li>
<li>Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.</li>
</ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with an ever-growing student population.</li>
<li>Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.</li>
<li>Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.</li>
<li>Willingness and flexibility to teach classes using various instructional delivery methods at any of the four locations.</li>
