POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/ JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators/directors to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the college’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check NSCC email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar. Work with students as academic advisor as assigned. Comply with all college and TBR policies and guidelines. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
Current unencumbered Tennessee Registered Nursing license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
Collegiate level teaching experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Part time faculty are hired as needed on a semester-to-semester basis and typically teach up to nine credit hours during the semester. Columbia State offers classes at five campuses: Columbia Campus, Williamson Campus, Lawrenceburg Campus, Lewisburg Campus, and Clifton Campus. Columbia State also offers classes at several off-campus locations and clinical sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree in Nursing preferred. Experientially qualified in Foundations, Medical/Surgical, Pediatrics, Mental Health, or Women’s Health.&nbsp; Licensed in Tennessee as a Registered Nurse (or immediately eligible). Current CPR (BLS/AED).

For part-time faculty who continue to work at Columbia State, salary is based on collegiate level teaching experience documented during the first semester of teaching.
Part-Time Faculty Duties and Responsibilities
The part-time faculty member reports directly to the dean for assignments/duties and is responsible for:

<li>Beginning and ending all classes as schedules.</li>
<li>Organizing, assigning, and supervising learning activities of students in his/her classes.</li>
<li>Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and for informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate records of student attendance/participating and grades.</li>
