Endorsed with appropriate credentials of an unencumbered RN licensure in the State of Tennessee, CPR certification for healthcare professionals, advanced preparation and experience in a nursing practice specialty and hold the minimum academic credentials of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college.
C. In order to maintain and improve the rigor of the Nursing program, the candidate is required to obtain a Master’s Degree in Nursing within 2 years.
D. The successful candidate must provide evidence of an active, unencumbered Tennessee nursing license during the hiring process.&nbsp; Candidates with a multistate license who have changed or may be changing their primary state of residence to Tennessee must apply for a multistate license in Tennessee within 60 days of relocation. Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing required. Must hold active licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee, B.S.N preferred. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years. Teaching experience preferred. This position will report directly to the Director of Nursing and Allied Health. This position requires evening and weekend availability.

• Develop course of study and conduct training program in specialty area. • Confer with administration to gain knowledge and better understand changes in policies, procedures, and technologies. • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specific training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individualized and group instruction, lecture, demonstration, and conference. • Select or develop teaching aids, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and reference materials. • Maintain student records and reports. • Responsible for student placement and assist with student follow-up. • Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to business and industry; establish and maintain good public relations with the institution’s general public. • Participate in recruitment of students. • Supervise students’ clinical experience as scheduled. • Actively seek potential clinical sites for the provision of clinical training. • Demonstrate a commitment to staying current in the nursing field.

Position Summary: Provide guidance, instruction, and leadership to registered nursing enrolled in the Associate of Applied Science in Nursing program. Assists with evaluation, scheduling, and advising of students. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with college faculty, staff, students, the general public, program advisory committees, and other health care professionals. Endorsed with appropriate credentials of RN licensure in Tennessee, CPR certification for health care professionals and advanced preparation and experience in one of following areas: Pediatrics or Psychiatric/Mental Health.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Instruction and supervision of registered nursing students in the classroom in one of the following nursing areas: Pediatrics 2. Instruct and supervise R.N. nursing students in the clinical agency. 3. Function under the direction of the course faculty or Dean of Nursing for the course. 4. Participate in departmental activities associated with the instructional program. 5. Communicate clearly with students and colleagues. 6. Work effectively with traditional and non-traditional students including but not limited to the culturally and ethnically diverse. 7. Participate in professional organizations related to nursing and teaching. 8. Adapt to changes in the nursing program. 9. Schedule office hours as needed.

Job Duties

<li>Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Nursing.</li>
<li>Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, tests, and papers fairly and consistently; and keep students informed about their progress through the prompt grading of papers and other work.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Develops curricula and instructional material such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains office hours for students seeking academic advice, assists in student recruitment and retention; and assists students with course-related problems outside of the classroom.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Maintains accurate student attendance records, grades, and other required records in compliance with federal FERPA regulations.</li>
<li>Attends all faculty meetings, college assemblies, professional development and orientation activities, and other meetings as called by the President, Dean or Department Chair.</li>
<li>Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.</li>
<li>Participates in departmental and college committees; and provides outreach service to the community.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as assign by Department Head/Dean.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.</li>
<li>Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.</li>
</ul>

<ul>
<li>Knowledge of current teaching and learning strategies to facilitate student-centered learning; experience interacting successfully with an ever-growing student population.</li>
<li>Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.</li>
<li>Ability to integrate technology into course delivery.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.</li>
<li>Willingness and flexibility to teach classes using various instructional delivery methods at any of the six locations.</li>
