GENERAL DUTIES:&nbsp; The Practical Nursing Associate Instructor is responsible for the following areas including, but not limited to: teaching and supervision of nursing students in on-campus classroom and off-campus clinical settings; evaluating and advising students; maintaining confidential, accurate and complete records on paper and electronically; completing reports as required in a timely manner; participating in the development of the program; participating in the recruitment of new students and placement of graduates; maintaining an active advisory committee; and other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Healthcare Programs. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Class hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Clinical hours vary. Travel to other TCAT Dickson campuses and alternate clinical sites may be required. This is a fully on-site position with teaching conducted in person.
SALARY:&nbsp; $55,983-$67,181 per year ($28.71-$34.45 per hour). Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology -- Dickson guidelines and directly related experience.

The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories. PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM: The Practical Nursing Program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Graduates will obtain a diploma in Practical Nursing and may then be eligible to take the National Council Licensing Exam for Practical Nursing (NCLEX-PN) used to obtain nursing licensure in Tennessee. Practical Nursing is entry-level nursing. Graduates are prepared with the background and skills to give knowledgeable, basic nursing care to patients with varying degrees of physical needs. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) work under the supervision of registered nurses and doctors. Positions are available in hospitals, long-term care facilities, physician's offices, home health agencies, and various other healthcare settings.

Minimum Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with an active license in Tennessee as a Registered Nurse (RN); minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing required. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an RN within the last five years. 
Preferred Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and teaching experience are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication and computer skills. • Evidence of ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
SALARY: This position's rate of pay is $35.00 per hour.
