Qualifications
BSN degree; 5 years of hospital clinical experience and current unencumbered RN license, State of Tennessee;
3 years teaching experience in the nursing field; administrative and/or managerial supervision experience of nurses; good computer and communication skills; knowledge of current State of Tennessee Board of Nursing rules/regulations; Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) preferred.
General Duties 
<ul>
<li>Coordinate programs such as Nursing, Allied Health, and other nursing related programs that may be developed.</li>
<li>Recruit, orient, counsel, evaluate, and teach students.</li>
<li>Staff the department, train, evaluate, and supervise faculty and staff.</li>
<li>Assign teaching and non-teaching loads, assist with teaching, and act as a mediator between students and teachers.</li>

Responsibilities 
<ul>
<li>Director of Nursing will report to the President of TCAT Henry/Carroll.</li>
<li>Manage all Nursing/Allied Health Programs at TCAT Henry/Carroll.</li>
<li>Organize and ensure advisory meetings are conducted according to policy and to ensure workforce needs are met.</li>
<li>Assist with accreditation procedures and maintain completion, placement, and licensure standards of COE, TN Board of Nursing, and TCAT Henry/Carroll.</li>
<li>Work with area healthcare facilities to secure clinical sites.</li>
<li>Identify equipment needs.</li>
<li>Work with appropriate administrative personnel to develop adequate program budgets.</li>
<li>Develop, review, and update curricula and instructional material with faculty to ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory or accreditation standards, including regularly scheduled faculty meetings for operation of the programs.</li>
<li>Ensure clinical contracts are current.</li>
<li>Facilitate professional development programs for assigned faculty.</li>
<li>Coordinate First Aid and CPR activities for faculty, staff, and students.</li>
<li>Compile, revise and publish the Practical Nursing Handbook and related manuals and brochures on a timely basis.</li>
<li>Administer policies and procedures established by TBR/TCAT and participate in college and departmental policy development.</li>
<li>Coordinate NCLEX-PN review course prior to the exam and assist students with the NCLEX-PN application process.</li>
<li>Provide job placement opportunities for students in graduate transition.</li>
<li>Provide remedial referrals and services for students.</li>
<li>Perform all other duties as assigned by the President.</li>

They must maintain reliable HIPPA compliant high-speed (100mb) internet with hardwired backup copiers, fax, scanner, shredder, etc. Patient privacy must be protected at all times, which includes, but is not limited to using headsets for all verbal communication, utilizing company approved devices, websites, and applications, and other HIPAA guidelines.
