The Opportunity

<li>Graduates from our Emergency Psychiatry Fellowship will become pioneers in a unique and emerging specialty that will transform how Emergency Departments treat psychiatric patients.  </li>
<li>The successful fellow will receive training by nationally recognized experts in the field of Emergency Psychiatry. </li>
<li>Training will focus on the assessment, management, and disposition of emergency psychiatric patients through hands-on experience in both the medical ED and various acute psychiatric settings. </li>
<li>Fellows will gain experience as a physician leader of an inter-disciplinary team to shape improvements in the system-based delivery of emergency psychiatric care. </li>
<li>The fellow will also gain critical knowledge of diagnosing and managing acute medical conditions that can often exacerbate psychiatric conditions. </li>
<li>This one-year fellowship opportunity is available to psychiatry residents graduating in good standing from ACGME accredited residency programs and after completion of the equivalent of 4 years of a residency in psychiatry. </li>

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center – Colton, California

<li>EM Residency Program began as an AOA program in 2004 and received ACGME initial accreditation in September 2017. Continued accreditation was granted January 2020. </li>
<li>EM residency has 32 residents; large number of residents are from a variety of services/programs, medical students and PA fellows/students. </li>
<li>8 ACGME accredited residency programs: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB, Psychiatry, Surgery, Radiology and Neurology. </li>
<li>4 ACGME accredited fellowships: EMS, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Pulmonary/Critical Care, and Surgical Critical Care. </li>
<li>Graduate Medical Education has been an integral part of this hospital for the past 70 years. </li>
<li>ARMC is a 456-bed university-based teaching hospital for the newly LCME accredited California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM). </li>
<li>The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a 50-bed Emergency Department that sees 100,000+ annual ED patient visits and handles approximately 3,000 severely injured trauma patients each year. </li>
<li>Soon to be Level I trauma center. </li>
<li>Located on 70-acre campus and operates as a tri-regional burn center, primary stroke center, and behavioral health center. </li>
<li>Numerous primary care centers are located throughout the County of San Bernardino as well as more than 40 outpatient specialty care centers. </li>
<li>Backup specialties include neurosurgeons, surgeons, neonatologists, and more with 24/7 on-site coverage. </li>

Job Title: Academic Ultrasound Faculty

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team at Riverside Community Hospital as an Academic Ultrasound Faculty member.&nbsp;
The Academic Ultrasound Faculty member will play a critical role in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in the use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) across a variety of specialties and clinical settings. This individual will be responsible for developing, leading, and delivering ultrasound curriculum, advancing ultrasound education and research, and actively participating in clinical care.
Key Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assist in the development and implementation of ultrasound curricula for both learners in undergraduate and graduate medical education programs</li>
<li>Collaborate on the instruction of medical students and residents from emergency medicine, family medicine, anesthesia, surgery, and internal medicine in POCUS education, including both didactic sessions and during their ultrasound rotations. Assist in the implementation and improvement of the Ultrasound Fellowship and participate in the instruction and mentorship of the Ultrasound fellow.</li>
<li>Conduct clinical and educational research in the field of ultrasound, with opportunities to present and publish findings.</li>
<li>Mentor and support the academic development of trainees in their scholarly pursuits related to ultrasound.</li>
<li>Provide ongoing POCUS education for physicians, advanced practice providers, and nursing staff.</li>
<li>Provide quality assurance feedback on both patient care and educational POCUS exams.</li>
<li>Review and revise policies and procedures relevant to POCUS, including internal &nbsp; credentialing and remediation of emergency physicians, trainees, and faculty at Riverside Community Hospital (RCH).</li>
<li>Participate in ultrasound-related quality improvement projects within the clinical setting to enhance patient care outcomes.</li>
<li>Participate in the recruitment and selection of trainees interested in ultrasound-focused learning.</li>
<li>Maintain the online image archival system, ultrasound machines, and POCUS training equipment.</li>
<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge on advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices in education and clinical care.</li>
<li>Assist in the development of a hospital-wide, multidisciplinary POCUS program.</li>
<li>Participate in ACGME-required scholarly activities, core faculty committee work, conference attendance, and other faculty participation requirements.</li>
</ul>
Required Experience and Competencies
<ul>
<li>MD or DO degree with board certification in Emergency Medicine</li>
<li>Fellowship training in an EUFAC-accredited fellowship program or Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography (AEMUS) Focused Practice Designation</li>
<li>Strong commitment to education with proven experience teaching medical students, residents, and/or fellows.</li>
<li>Evidence of scholarly activity, including publications and presentations, in the field of ultrasound is highly desirable.</li>
<li>Proficient in ultrasound-guided procedures, diagnostic applications, and advanced imaging techniques.</li>
<li>Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Experience with curriculum development, ultrasound administration, and education research preferred.</li>
<li>Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in California.</li>
