Job Description HMS MEDscience seeks a skilled and experienced computer scientist, dynamic educator and communicator, and entrepreneurial program builder to lead the MEDscienceTECH Program. This position will be responsible for MEDscienceTECH program growth, including developing new curriculum, developing and implementing a marketing and outreach plan to cultivate partnerships, and representing HMS MEDscience with schools, community partners, and in the Massachusetts’ medtech and life sciences’ ecosystems. 
The Assistant Director of MEDscienceTECH reports to the Director of HMS MEDscience and serves on the organization’s partnership management team, collaborating with the leadership team to ensure alignment and drive strategic partnership goals. MEDscienceTECH is a growing, early-stage program that is in need of someone with a deep understanding of the broader biomedical engineering education and career development landscape as well as the ability to think creatively and structure collaborations that advance shared priorities. This role also includes curriculum development requiring subject matter expertise in computer science, biomedical engineering, and life sciences. 
&nbsp;This person will also serve as a lead teacher for HMS MEDscience’s flagship clinical program. In this capacity, they will develop and implement scope and sequence for semester-long partnerships with schools, based on shared priorities. They will deliver MEDscience’s clinical curriculum and make adjustments tailored to the priorities of schools and experience-level of students, while also leading and mentoring less experienced teachers. 
Physical Requirements: <ul><li>Must be able to teach 3-4 sessions each day (75 minutes/session)</li><li>Requires assisting in set-up of simulation and robotics equipment, which can include lifting and carrying objects of moderate weight.&nbsp;</li></ul>As part of your application, we recommend including a cover letter that will help us better understand your qualifications and background. Excels at introducing innovative ideas, identifying opportunities, and working collaboratively to advance strategic priorities. Job Description Harvard Real Estate (HRE) is a department within HUHRE. The Property Manager (PM) position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Operations (ADO) and works as part of a property management team within the HRE Operations Group. The HRE Operations Group is comprised of three property management teams responsible for a diverse portfolio of buildings consisting of 3.3 million square feet located in Allston and Cambridge, MA. As an HRE Property Manager, the primary responsibilities include the day-to-day operations, tenant services, project management and financial support within the assigned portfolio.Essential tasks of the PM include overseeing core aspects of property management. They will manage select vendor service providers throughout their assigned portfolio. The PM provides exceptional service, supervision of staff, direction, and guidance to staff for tenant communications and lease administration in a fast-paced property management organization.Job-Specific Responsibilities: <ul><li>Provides day-to-day supervision and direction to the Assistant Property Manager (APM), HRE Property Administrator (PA), Property Operation Assistants (POA) or contracted maintenance vendor in addressing the needs of the tenants and their assigned properties.&nbsp;</li><li>Direct the Assistant Property Manager, Property Administrator, and Property Operations Assistants in providing preventative maintenance and utilizes the software program to manage the related maintenance projects and vendor assignments.</li><li>Serve as Project manager for operating projects (budgets under $300K) and tenant renovation projects.</li><li>Monitors staff performance, including coaching and mentoring, conducting counseling and discipline meetings, and conducting 90-day and annual staff performance appraisals.</li><li>Performs payroll duties, including managing requested time off.&nbsp;</li><li>Overseeing schedules, ensuring work exceptions are reflected in schedules.&nbsp;</li><li>Participates in interviewing process for APMs, PAs and POAs and the orientation of new staff.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage terms and conditions within portfolio leases&nbsp;This includes, but is not limited to, supporting notifications with tenants, ensuring that the financial obligations of the tenant are met, providing details to the financial management team in calculating common area maintenance chargebacks, etc.</li><li>Prepare cost estimates for repairs and maintenance, tenant improvement projects and operating projects.</li><li>Develop project specifications, requests for proposals and service contracts per the policies and procedures of HRE Operations.</li><li>Prepare operating and capital budgets, provide forecasts, and actively research effective cost management solutions for assigned portfolio.&nbsp;</li><li>Serve as a key member of the HRE Local Emergency Management Team and function as essential property management personnel during University or building related emergencies.</li><li>Partner with Office for Sustainability to ensure the implementation of portfolio’s sustainability goals.</li><li>Partner with Environmental Health &amp; Safety department to develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks with the properties and occupants.</li><li>Provide back up for APMs and other staff for any related tenant, property or vendor matters.</li><li>Utilize HRE leasing and operations system, Yardi, and other Harvard internal administrative systems, i.e., Buy2Pay, C-Path and Concur, in support of project needs and financial processing and reporting.</li><li>Participate in a range of professional development opportunities.</li><li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned.</li></ul> Qualifications Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>Five years’ experience with commercial property management.</li><li>Proven experience in working with real estate accounting reports and systems.</li><li>Commercial/industrial lease management with lease interpretation experience.</li></ul>Additional Qualifications and Skills: <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>IREM© Certified Property Manager (CPM) or equivalent certification preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Supervisory experience preferred.</li><li>Must have strong organizational skills with a proven ability to assume accountability for projects and work independently to see tasks from start to finish.</li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, writing business correspondence and have strong computer skills, including project management software.</li><li>Must have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with multiple&nbsp;Proven knowledge and working experience with MEP systems.</li><li>Demonstrated success working in a team environment.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.</li><li>Excellent customer service, organizational, written, and communication skills.</li><li>Ability to execute operating projects or small tenant fit outs.</li></ul> Additional Information Standard Hours/Schedule: 35&nbsp;hours per weekVisa Sponsorship Information: Harvard University is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this positionPre-Employment Screening: Identity, Criminal, Drug Test, CORI, ReferencesEmergency Status Designation: Essential Personnel#LI-SP1Work Format DetailsThis position has been determined by school or unit leaders that all duties and responsibilities must be performed at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location.
