Externally, they communicate with vendors and contractors.&nbsp;Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<ul> <li>Coaching, supervising, and training skilled craftspeople, apprentices, and laborers in the repair and maintenance activities associated with their assigned shift and area.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assuming single point accountability for maintenance activities during their respective shift.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performing frontline troubleshooting activities on equipment in area of responsibility.</li> <li>Directing safety awareness programs to manage workforce safety, maintain housekeeping, and assist the Operations Department in area safety analysis.&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinating PM and other outage activities for equipment in area of responsibility.&nbsp;</li> <li>Planning daily activities for assigned maintenance crews and provide the tools, materials, and technical direction for normal maintenance, preventative maintenance, and capital work in area of responsibility.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performing root cause analysis and “5-why” techniques to eliminate maintenance downtime.&nbsp;</li> <li>Partnering with the Engineering Department on repetitive maintenance problems to continuously improve the reliability of responsible equipment and facilities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinating and managing the development of maintenance work procedures and standard practices to maximize quality work and eliminate waste.&nbsp;</li> <li>Driving continuous improvement activities to eliminate all waste, especially as it relates to maintenance downtime, safety, work practices, and employee involvement.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assisting other Maintenance Supervisors, as needed.&nbsp;</li> <li>Managing applicable labor issues effectively within respective work area.</li> <li>Performing administrative requirements to effectively manage work force.&nbsp;</li> <li>Performing other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ul>QualificationsBasic QualificationsFor this position to be successful, the incumbent should have:<ul> <li>A High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.&nbsp;</li> <li>Minimum 3 years of maintenance supervisory experience within a heavy manufacturing environment or a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in the Military.</li> <li>Minimum 1 year of experience in a unionized work environment.&nbsp;</li> <li>This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. Work is normally performed on the shop floor.
