Mergers &amp; Acquisition Advisory&nbsp;- Our team also works with the Amex Ventures, Corporate Development and Business Development teams to assess the capability landscape and maturity of potential acquisitions.&nbsp;The Role: Director, Technology StrategyAs a Director on the Tech Strategy team, you will:<ul><li>Form impactful and actionable strategic recommendations to drive our business model evolution, growth, and innovation through enterprise-wide capability investment, enhancement, and rationalization.</li><li>Understand how American Express’ enterprise strategy and future state business model is enabled through existing tech capabilities and emerging / disruptive technologies.</li><li>Prepare and lead executive presentations to highlight critical findings and recommendations.</li><li>Challenge the status quo and solve problems creatively using your toolbox of techniques such as Design Thinking, scenario modeling, use case development, journey mapping, business capability modeling, etc.</li><li>Influence others, often without direct authority, persuading with compelling data, facts, and conclusions.</li><li>Collaborate effectively and build key relationships with Business Strategy, Product, Customer Experience, Engineering and Architecture teams.</li><li>Help build an awesome culture through team building and colleague engagement activities.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>10-15 years of professional experience, including prior management consulting experience delivering projects within one or more Technology strategic disciplines (i.e. CIO Advisory, Digital Transformation, Tech Value Creation, Innovative Business/Op Model, Emerging/Future Tech, Portfolio Rationalization, Capability Model/Blueprint, Tech M&amp;A, etc.)</li><li>Experience leading, developing, and mentoring high performing teams with ability to attract, recruit, train, and retain quality talent working in a technology/management consulting setting.</li><li>Skilled in data analysis, data driven decision making, relationship building, customer-centric design, customer journey mapping and external benchmarking.</li><li>Familiarity with one or more core Technology functions in a strategic capacity (i.e. Infrastructure and Cloud Strategy, Platform/ Product Strategy, Enterprise/Business Architecture, Resiliency/Cyber Security Strategy etc.) &nbsp;</li><li>Proficient in developing excellent quality presentations and deliverables for an executive audience.</li><li>Track record of influencing change within a matrixed organization (working across levels and job functions).</li><li>Knowledge of payments, commerce, FinTech innovation and disruptive technologies and trends</li><li>Solid business acumen and problem-solving ability with high capacity for strategic/end-to-end thinking</li><li>High intellectual curiosity, creativity, complex problem solving and strategic and innovative thought leadership.</li><li>Excellent facilitation and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and gain alignment at all levels of an organization, including senior leadership.</li><li>Ability to operate in ambiguity, white space, and evolving priorities.</li><li>Loves working in an entrepreneurial culture that is lean, fast paced, and dynamic.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>MBA or equivalent</li><li>Previous Big 4 management consulting experience</li><li>Familiarity with Agile Delivery/Methodologies and Lean Portfolio Management</li><li>Prior exposure to FinTech and emerging tech landscape in payment/banking industry</li></ul>Salary Range: $145,000.00 to $230,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
