Ultimately, we drive GMNS revenue and profit growth through customer-centric pricing principles, more flexible pricing architecture and innovative pricing solutions.The Manager, Planning &amp; Forecasting - Pricing is responsible for the forecasting and reporting of merchant discount rate (DR). This role provides a unique opportunity to have an impact across multiple businesses and segments by balancing the organization’s goal for profitable charge volume and merchant expansion, essential to the strength of our business. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain knowledge of the payments industry, as well as exposure to and insight from senior leaders across American Express. The Manager should be a dynamic individual who can partner closely with senior leaders and has the right ambition to drive change.Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Analyze Discount Rate (DR) trends across regions to help inform global GMNS pricing strategies</li><li>Perform forensics on key DR drivers to assess sensitivity of various business practices and trends</li><li>Lead global DR analysis and consolidation of all forecasts and results</li><li>Lead DR content preparation and delivery for all senior leader meetings/presentations (Executive Committee, Board decks, GMNS President and Leadership Teams)</li><li>Build a comprehensive DR data repository globally to better assess historical performance and help shape future pricing framework</li><li>Develop and implement roadmap for process standardization/ improvements for all reporting and forecasting related activities</li><li>Support the creation of Merchant Discount Rate forecasts and track monthly performance against forecast by identifying variance drivers</li><li>Support external audits by researching identified issues, partnering with regional business teams, and working through to resolution</li></ul>&nbsp;Qualifications<ul><li>4+ years’ experience in investment banking, management consulting, corporate finance, strategic finance, or other finance related roles is desired</li><li>Bachelor’s degree required; Finance/Accounting/Business desired. MBA/Graduate degree is a plus</li><li>Strong aptitude for analytics; demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated financial models and draw value-added insights from large amounts of financial data</li><li>Success in quantitative data analysis methods and data mining </li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>High proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint is required</li><li>SQL and/or SAS data querying is highly preferred</li><li>Strong relationship management and collaboration skills with the ability to navigate competing priorities and align teams toward shared objectives</li><li>Excellent communication skills – both written and oral - with experience leading discussions with senior leaders where decisions need to be made based on the facts presented</li><li>Self-starter who excels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that places a premium on driving results</li></ul>Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
