The Manager, Used Vehicle Acquisition is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the activities of the AutoNation Market Place (AMP) vehicle acquisition department in achieving used vehicle unit sales obtained through AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car (WBYC) program.&nbsp; This position is also responsible for managing the performance and development of the Drop-off Associates.<h2>Job Responsibilities:</h2><ul><li>Review appraisal values for customer vehicles that are submitted online and revising when needed based on actual condition.</li><li>Understand market trends and changes to trends in geographic market.</li><li>Provide guidance and support to dealership BDC Associates as it relates to purchasing used vehicles.</li><li>Interacting with the BDC Associates to collect additional information on sight unseen vehicles if more information is needed to establish an initial value.</li><li>Provide the daily management to the Drop Off Associates, including the training and development of the team.</li><li>Facilitate the recruiting, selection, on boarding and training of associates; planning/scheduling/assigning, monitoring and appraising job results and associate performance; and the coaching, counseling and disciplining of associates so as to develop and retain a qualified workforce.</li><li>Conduct daily and weekly meetings, to include training.</li><li>Assist in managing controllable expense elements for the Used Vehicle Department.</li><li>Contacting franchise stores to establish a buy bid number when applicable.</li><li>Comparing actual vehicle condition to the Condition Report filled out online by the customer.</li><li>Partnering with the Reconditioning Team to establish accurate repair estimates.</li><li>Will facilitate wholesale transportation to auction facilities.</li><li>Achieve targeted closing percentage rates for We’ll Buy Your Car purchases.</li><li>Achieve targeted amount of reconditioning estimate of appraisal vs. actual reconditioning expense.</li><li>Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.</li><li>Adheres to all company policies, procedures and safety standards.</li></ul><h2>Requirements:</h2><ul><li>High school diploma or the equivalent.</li><li>Customer facing skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with customers</li><li>Sales Manager experience required.</li><li>Ability to negotiate pricing on a vehicle</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle appraisals and used car operations and leadership highly preferred.</li><li>Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills</li><li>Computer literacy</li><li>Excellent communication and people skills.</li><li>Ability to meet company’s production and quality standards.</li><li>Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record</li><li>Physical Requirements &amp; Working Conditions:</li><li>Prolonged periods of standing.</li><li>Ability to operate an automobile.</li><li>Exposure to inclement weather.</li></ul>estimated between $100K - $250K annually<h2>Exciting Benefits and Perks Await You:</h2><ul><li>Competitive compensation and 401k matching</li><li>Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with insurance plans (health, dental, vision) and maternity benefits.</li><li>Associate purchase and discount programs for new and pre-owned vehicles, services, parts, collision, accessories, and AutoGear</li><li>Access amazing deals and discounts through YouDecide, a website with offers from top providers and retailers</li><li>Join our DRVPNK mission to raise and donate millions of dollars to cancer research and treatment, partnering with cancer charities nationwide</li></ul>AutoNation is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, offering innovative products, exceptional services, and comprehensive solutions, empowering our customers to make the best decisions for their needs.
