The Patient Access Coordinator knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the department and consistently demonstrates these practices. The Patient Access Coordinator acts as a role model to all Patient Access Representatives.Duties and Responsibilities: <ul><li>Acts as a mentor to new and existing registration staff.&nbsp;</li><li>Works with supervisor to orient and train new staff to department policies, procedures and workflow.</li><li>Schedules appointments for all patients as requested by the patient or provider.</li><li>Sets up the recalls for returning patients as instructed by the provider</li><li>Answers the telephone in a polite and courteous manner. Identifies the department and introduces self.</li><li>Works closely and professionally with the clinical team to assist patients who walk-in with symptoms. Ensure continuous compliance with established testing policies, laws, regulations, operating procedures, and University and accreditation standards.
