In the CICU, nursing care is provided to critically ill children and adult congenital cardiac surgery patients. Care includes but is not limited to children with congenital heart disease, acquired heart disease, and broad ranges of critical and chronic medical conditions. Patients range in age from the neonate to adult. The applicant’s primary assignment will be in the CICU. The PICU will be the secondary unit accommodation in the event of volume fluctuations.
