This position will be located in Washington, DC or Reston, VA.<h4>Responsibilities</h4>Responsible for overseeing a team of data analysts and data scientists to provide analytical support through machine learning, statistical analysis, causal analysis, and modeling and simulation within the people analytics team.<ul><li>Lead and collaborate with a team of data scientists, data analysts, and HR functional SMEs to understand business processes, develop analytical requirements, and interpret and communicate analytic results.</li><li>Frame and scale data problems to effectively analyze, visualize, and derive data solutions.</li><li>Understand and analyze complex, organization-specific datasets.</li><li>Build models using machine learning, rule-based, or traditional statistical methods.</li><li>Contribute to the development of the organization's advanced analytics strategy and roadmap.</li><li>Implement and deliver technical and process consulting through management of standard consulting projects.</li><li>Transform data and analysis into informative visualizations and interactive dashboards using open-source and commercially available tools.</li><li>Derive insights and analytic narratives from data and visualizations for effective storytelling and communication.</li><li>Operate in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, delivering analysis and reporting.</li><li>Develop techniques to integrate, consolidate, and structure data for analytical use.</li><li>Advise non-technical customers on the interpretation and use of data analysis products, dashboards, and reports.</li><li>Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment of analytical solutions with business goals.</li><li>Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.</li><li>Stay updated with the latest advancements in analytics and data science, and provide technical guidance to the team.</li><li>Provide training and mentoring to junior team members to build the team's overall capability.</li><li>Ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical outputs through rigorous quality assurance and validation processes.</li></ul><h4>Qualifications</h4>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline is required.</li><li>Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant field is preferred.</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>5-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years as a technical lead or task lead.</li><li>Proven track record of managing and delivering complex analytical projects.</li></ul>Technical Skills:<ul><li>Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python and Java and/or experience with computational analysis tools like R and MATLAB.</li><li>Familiarity with data science libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, keras.</li><li>Competence in creating meaningful data visualizations and interactive dashboards that communicate findings and relate them to business impact.</li><li>Experience with visualization platforms like Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, RShiny, Plotly, and D3.js. Tableau expertise strongly preferred.</li><li>Working knowledge of databases and strong SQL is desired.</li><li>Preferred experience includes linking analytic and data visualization products to database connections.</li><li>Familiarity with data science methods related to data architecture, data munging, data and feature engineering, and predictive analytics.</li><li>Experience with unstructured text and natural language processing is preferred.</li></ul>Communication and Leadership:<ul><li>Superior communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members.</li><li>Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across the organization.</li></ul>Additional Qualifications:<ul><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, solutions-oriented environment.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.</li><li>Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.</li></ul>This position requires an active security clearance at the TS/SCI level with polygraph.<h4> LMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
