Postdoctoral Research Associate

OTTO’s opportunity:Our Quality Lab Technician is responsible for the electrical, mechanical, audio, and environmental tests of current and new product designs.Specifically, the Quality Lab Technician will:<ul><li>Maintain test-related Military/Agency/Laboratory documentation on Lab Database.</li><li>Prepare informal and formal tests reports.</li><li>Perform testing on prototypes, existing, and competitor products.</li><li>Evaluate test results and determine if products are in conformance.</li><li>Assist in assembly, procurement and implementation of test equipment.</li><li>Setup test equipment and products in proper sequence.</li><li>Conduct tests for stated criteria, involving mechanical, electrical, environmental and electromechanical functions.</li><li>Assist Lab Personnel in daily operations.</li><li>Assist in the OTTO Internal Audit program.</li><li>Assist in the OTTO metrology program for Quality/Production equipment.</li><li>Provide support and advise staff.</li><li>Develop policies &amp; procedures to continuously improve OTTO’s Quality Systems.</li><li>Participate in the maintenance of OTTO’s ISO 9000 Registration.</li><li>Testing competence as required per ISO 17025 Scope of Accreditation for OTTO.</li><li>Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.</li></ul>What you’ll need to bring to the table:<ul><li>Associate In Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum 2 years formal training or extensive practical experience.</li><li>Ability to participate in ASQ CQT training program.</li><li>Availability for nonstandard or extended work hours.</li><li>Computer literate to a basic level in all Microsoft Office applications.</li><li>Lift equipment up to 50 lbs.</li><li>Background in project management experience essential.</li><li>Experience working with various electrical diagnostic equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, etc) preferred.</li><li>Experience working with various Environmental Chambers (Temperature, Humidity, etc) preferred.</li><li>Experience with Instron Materials testing equipment preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with various vibration testing equipment (Unholtz Dickie, Bruel &amp; Kjaer, etc) preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of pneumatic and electromechanical set ups is a plus.</li><li>Requires self-motivation and ability to complete projects with strict guidelines.</li><li>Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills; must have a pleasant and helpful telephone manner.</li><li>Requires the ability to differentiate between colors.</li><li>Must have excellent figure aptitude and be detail oriented.</li><li>Basic knowledge of various SPC techniques.</li><li>Requires the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.</li><li>Working knowledge of ISO 9000, AS9100, ISO14001, ISO 17025 and SPC techniques.</li><li>Ability to use various measurement (both mechanical and electrical) devices.</li><li>Requires the ability to understand basic electrical techniques and theories along with reading electrical schematics</li></ul>What OTTO offers for this specific position:The hiring range listed in this posting is what we, in good faith, anticipate relying on when confirming a base salary for this position; exceptions may be considered for highly experienced candidates with multiple years of at-level experience.<ul><li>Target base salary hiring range: $40,000 to $50,000, based on qualifications and experience.</li><li>Profit Sharing Bonus - OTTO believes that it’s fair to share the profits that the employees help to make; profit sharing is distributed to employees twice a year.
