Each are described below and are estimated to be around 50% of the role.&nbsp;The National City Survey&nbsp;The People Lab will launch the first-ever national survey of city employees in 2026. This initiative will entail conducting an annual survey of city employees across the country, with the aim of empowering cities, researchers, and practitioners to better understand workforce challenges and address them in a timely and data-informed manner. The Senior Project Manager, working closely with a Data Scientist, will oversee the creation of a national panel data set of city employees as well as employee surveys in three cities to start, with the intention of scaling up to additional cities each year. They will coordinate across stakeholders; manage government partner relationships, timelines, and deliverables; coordinate all implementation logistics; support junior research staff in meeting their deliverables; and set up scalable operational infrastructure for conducting the survey annually.&nbsp;&nbsp;Policy Bot&nbsp;The Senior Project Manager will manage the development of an interactive AI bot that provides informed and accessible insights to policymakers aiming to develop and implement evidence-based policies. The work may entail (a) managing the process of gathering and categorizing evidence for different policy audiences, in collaboration with a research team; (b) project managing a series of behavioral experiments on how policymakers would use an AI bot; (c) managing and coordinating with multiple stakeholders for public-facing versions of an AI bot, including academics, developers, communications teams, and funders. The Council is led by an executive council of seven elected faculty co-presidents but situated within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and hosted administratively in IQSS within the newly established Program for Higher Education Research.The Director will oversee all aspects of the Program operations, communications donor relations, programming, and will work closely with affiliated faculty on advancing rigorous research and the CAFH Co-Presidents on the Council’s intellectual and academic vision. The person who fills the position will interact with all Program and Council faculty, along with students, staff, other centers, administrative departments at Harvard, other universities, and all partners and donors.The position will work under the supervision of the IQSS Faculty Director and Co-Presidents of the Council, and will report to the Executive Director of IQSS.

Its mission is to understand and enhance learning, thinking, and creativity in the arts, as well as humanistic and scientific disciplines, at the individual and institutional levels. 
Based at Project Zero, the project called "Assessing Efforts to Nurture Character and Ethics in Higher Education” is working with colleges and universities to assess courses, programs, and whole school missions aimed at encouraging students to think “beyond the self.” In other words, we are collecting empirical evidence that will show whether, and if so, how, the college experience can broaden one’s sense of responsibilities to the campus community, a profession, society, and the world. We look to investigate the “value add” of courses, programs, and mission in higher education focused on character and ethics. 
 
Job Specific Responsibilities:A RA II will be responsible for assisting with and engaging a broad range of associated tasks:• PREPARING FOR STUDIES: Responsible for recruitment of participants, scheduling interviews, focus groups, and surveys; tracking data collection activities; deidentifying and organizing data for analysis in alignment with IRB protocols. 10%• DATA COLLECTION: Participate in data collection, including, semi-structured interviews with students and alums, survey development and dissemination, and collection and organization of de-identified student work products. 40%• DATA ANALYSIS: Prepare memos and contribute to reports to document, analyze, and make sense of qualitative data and insights from piloting. The position will also assist in maintaining an organized collection of plasmids and data collection protocols suitable for transfer to others including outside agencies. The employee should be able to conduct and analyze their research with guidance from their mentor.&nbsp;The individual will participate in group meetings and collaborate in writing papers and reports to funding agencies. They will attend seminar series within HMS and take part in the scientific and intellectual life of the lab, Harvard Medical School, and the Wyss Institute at Harvard University. This role is essential to advancing the project’s mission of scaling HouseZero®-inspired innovations into interconnected, energy-efficient communities and delivering impactful, real-world solutions to climate challenges.&nbsp;TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;<ul><li>Facilitate Cross-Team Coordination: Organize and co-lead biweekly meetings with representatives from each of the three research thrusts to ensure progress tracking, cross-team alignment, and timely decision-making.&nbsp;</li><li>Serve as a Communication Hub: Maintain clear and consistent information flow among research teams, leadership, and partners.&nbsp;</li><li>Documentation &amp; Reporting: Draft comprehensive internal and external reports to document milestones, synthesize outcomes, and communicate progress to stakeholders.&nbsp;</li><li>Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with industry partners and external stakeholders to integrate practical insights into the research and deployment strategy.&nbsp;</li><li>Proposal Development: Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of proposals for extramural funding to sustain and expand the initiative.&nbsp;</li><li>Strategic Integration: Ensure cohesion across the three research thrusts, advancing interdisciplinary collaboration and impact.&nbsp;</li><li>Mission Advancement: Help scale HouseZero®-inspired innovations into energy-efficient, interconnected communities that deliver real-world climate solutions.&nbsp;</li></ul>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position&nbsp;</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:&nbsp;<ul><li>Applicants must be able to perform typical office tasks, including sitting for extended periods, using standard office equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
