Performs clerical duties that follow well-established procedures set by federal, state, and institutional policies. Carries out a variety of duties in support of the Dyersburg State Community College Financial Aid Office in Covington, TN; while also, assisting the staff in increasing awareness of the participation in student financial aid programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Assist students with financial aid applications and related information via phone or in person; refer or answer questions related to the financial aid application process; assist students with completion of financial aid application and direction in further handling of the process.</li>
<li>Determine eligibility status, review financial aid data, input data into student information computer system; assist students via phone, email, or in person to determine financial aid needs and make recommendations based on those needs.</li>
<li>Advise students of issues that may need to be resolved in order to continue or reinstate eligibility in particular for those students with academic progress issues.</li>
<li>Assist in the registration process as it relates to financial aid eligibility and other special programs; assist with financial aid workshops.</li>
<li>Prepare forms, reports, records, and correspondence; receive and respond to related mail, phone calls and other inquiries timely and positively; maintain contacts and reconciles discrepancies with external parties.</li>
<li>Maintain physical and/or electronic documentation according to policy.</li>
<li>Maintain and order supplies for the Financial Aid Office.</li>
<li>Assists other office personnel with special assignments or substitutes for absent personnel when appropriate.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned by the Financial Aid Director and Financial Aid Coordinator.</li>
</ul>
Working Conditions:
Sedentary: Deskwork; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities.&nbsp; Some activities may occur outside of normal working hours.&nbsp; Insignificant physical effort other than normal movement.&nbsp; Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
Required Qualifications:

<li>Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.</li>
<li>Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, including on-line computer systems.</li>
<li>Strong computer skills and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.</li>
<li>Must have the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply federal and state rules and regulations and TBR and DSCC policies and procedures.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must be able to work independently and handle a variety of complicated assignments simultaneously.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and positivity.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Must be a team player.</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.</li>
<li>Effective customer service skills.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience:

<li>Must have at least two years general office experience with data entry, bookkeeping, student services and computer/technical experience.&nbsp;</li>
</ul>
Preferred Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Associate degree.</li>
<li>Experience in a higher education Financial Aid or Business Office setting.</li>
</ul>
Minimum starting salary is $28,400 annually ($14.57 per hour). With additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $34,100.&nbsp;

Kitchen Manager

Dyersburg State Community College invites applicants for Emergency Medical Services adjunct instructors for day, evening, and online classes held in Dyersburg, Covington, Paris, or at one of our other off-campus centers. Initial assignment may be at one of our teaching locations, but the official work station assignment may change each semester. The successful applicant will become certified and fully use the course management system (eLearn) for all classes. The applicant will also attend required meetings, report attendance, early alert notifications, and final grades prior to the established deadline, and will communicate curriculum and personnel needs or changes as appropriate to their assigned director/dean. This position reports to the Emergency Medical Services Director and the Dean of Health Sciences.
Requirements of the Position
Duties and Responsibilities: Teach assigned courses for discipline in Covington, Dyersburg, and/or Paris; prepare course materials; evaluate student learning, maintain class records, and submit required reports on time.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
