Job Summary Registered Nurses in the Chandler 5 Main Acute care area at UK Chandler Hospital provide care to adult patients with a wide range of medical / surgical conditions. The 5 Main Chandler Acute care unit provides acute, comprehensive inpatient care for patients suffering from a variety of medical diseases and surgical complications. As a part of this unit, the RN serves as an important component of the medical team. This team is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of multiple medical and surgical disease complications. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing total, comprehensive, continuous and patient centered care which includes: assessing, documenting, planning, implementing, teaching, developing, and evaluating a comprehensive nursing plan of care; delivering direct patient care; ensuring patient satisfaction; training and delegating duties for Nursing Care Technicians (Nursing Assistant); and adhering to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations. The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for overseeing nursing services each shift and functions as a nursing supervisor.
