Campus Location: Walters State Community College - Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)
Job Purpose:&nbsp;The primary purpose of this position is to support student success by providing guidance, counseling, and resources for academic, career, and personal development. The role assists students in clarifying their educational and career objectives, identifying and addressing barriers, making well-informed decisions, and creating effective action plans to achieve their goals.
Essential Job Functions:
<ul>
<li>Delivers personal, academic, and career counseling services to students, staff, and faculty, supporting both current and prospective students.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Administers and proctors placement tests, career assessments, and certification/licensure exams (including Pearson Vue, Hiset, Hesi A2, Praxis, CLEP, Kryterion, and Meazure Learning). Interprets and communicates testing results to students individually or in groups.</li>
<li>Guides students in selecting appropriate degree and certificate pathways, and provides support for job placement for students and graduates.</li>
<li>Engages in public relations and outreach efforts, and leads educational and mental health awareness campaigns on the Morristown campus.</li>
<li>Serves as a liaison by actively participating in campus committees, such as the Alcohol and Drug Committee and Behavior Intervention Team, and represents the college on the state Health &amp; Safety College Communications (CHASCO) coalition.</li>
<li>Travel to other campuses as needed for counseling or testing services.</li>
<li>May perform other duties as required.</li>

Required Qualifications:

<li>A master’s degree in Counseling

<li>Licensure to Administer Counseling 
</li>
<li>Two to four years of career experience in a highly-related position 
</li>
<li>A deep and comprehensive understanding of human behavior, developmental psychology, and higher education 
</li>

POSITION SUMMARY In adherence with institutional, state, and federal guidelines, the Financial Aid Counselor assists in the administration of student aid programs for a diverse population of traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Analyzes student verification files for accuracy and makes corrections as necessary. Evaluates students’ Satisfactory Academic Progress. Awards students federal and/or state aid. Counsel students regarding file completion, repercussions of drops/withdrawals and SAP appeals.
Processes reports for 3rd party awards, unusual enrollment, small comp list, selective service list, etc. Certifies Voc Rehab funds on FAST (state system). Coordinates and works FAFSA workshops and presentations. Stays abreast of current student aid programs and requirements through ongoing training and by attending conferences and seminars.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in any field. Two years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree related field, such as Accounting, Business or Counseling Prior experience in a financial service setting or in a higher education environment in a financial aid or student counseling role
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to communicate with a diverse group of students and parents regarding financial aid. Job Summary:
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies.
Job Duties:
Teach courses via on ground, online, hybrid or web-enhanced modalities as assigned. Teach evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment and distance-based courses as required. Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract. Regularly check your VSCC email and your departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Complete required College trainings. Complete all required reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions and administer and return surveys by the required deadlines. Advise the Department Chair at the earliest possibility if you are unable to teach a class. Attend meetings as requested by the Department Chair and/or Dean. Minimum Qualifications:
