This posting is intended to fill open positions on both the Water and Wastewater Divisions within the City of Tolleson. This position may be filled as either a Water/Wastewater Operator I (Trainee) or a Utilities Technician II (Certified Operator in Water or Wastewater), depending on the candidate's experience and certifications. Employees in this position perform technical operations, maintenance, and repair of the City's water and wastewater treatment facilities and associated equipment in compliance with all environmental regulatory laws, rules, and regulations. Duties include conducting field inspections and collecting wastewater samples, performing laboratory testing and recording data, operating, monitoring, and maintaining treatment plant processes and related equipment, operating heavy equipment and performing minor repairs, completing logs, reports, and work orders, monitoring and adjusting reclaim water systems, gas chlorination equipment, and auto samplers, managing biosolids in compliance with regulations, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and effectively within set parameters.
