Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.Daytona International Speedway seeks a talented professional to join in the position of PA System Technicianbased in our Daytona Beach, Florida office.This position is responsible for the planning, setup and managing of audio/visual aspects for Daytona International Speedway related events.&nbsp; This includes large spectator events and track and client meeting room rentals. Specifically, this&nbsp;position involves implementing, maintaining, servicing, monitoring, and repairing public address,&nbsp;intercom, specialty sound systems and audio-visual systems.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Setup/install equipment such as microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video&nbsp;monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and&nbsp;functions.</li><li>Work closely with the Venue Technology Manager, DIS Operations, Venue Operations and Sales teams&nbsp;on upcoming events. Act as an integral part in the production team of racing events at DIS.</li><li>Plan, install, maintain &amp; repair public address/intercom, specialty sound systems, and other&nbsp;system related components/equipment.</li><li>Create system documentation, block diagrams and schematics of existing and future&nbsp;projects.</li><li>Program audio DSPs, amplifiers, I/O devices and control units.</li><li>Performs system level diagnostics and preventative maintenance to ensure public&nbsp;address/intercom, specialty sound systems and other system related components/equipment are&nbsp;operational.</li><li>Skilled in the use of tools and equipment employed in testing and repairing of&nbsp;equipment.</li><li>Provide necessary surveying of facilities and make recommendations for the layout and location&nbsp;of system, components, equipment, cabling, and wiring.</li><li>Provide technical support to radio broadcast, TV broadcast, and cable TV (video) during&nbsp;events.</li><li>Respond to questions and needs of end-users concerning supported systems.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>DIRECTION EXERCISED: Provide supervision of seasonal employees and/or vendors during events in&nbsp;accordance with the policy and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting and training&nbsp;employees in accordance with Venue Technology Department guidelines.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES: One year certificate from a college or technical school; or two&nbsp;years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience&nbsp;preferred. Must have two years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electronic circuits.&nbsp;Dante Level 2 Certification and experience with Crown/Harmon Audio Architect systems also&nbsp;preferred.PROFESSIONAL: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional&nbsp;journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to read and interpret electronic circuit schematics. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.&nbsp;Abilityto effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Dependable transportation to and&nbsp;from work is required.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and&nbsp;proportions to practical situation.
