The Mechanic II is a fully trained shop mechanic who is able to perform all required job duties in the transportation shop, including routine preventive maintenance functions. They make all repairs related to trailers, including minor repairs to trailer refrigeration power units. Benefits you can count on: <ul><li>Pay rate: $21.41 per hour. Can be more based on experience. </li><li>2nd Shift - 2 pm to 10:30 pm.</li><li>Generous benefits that start on your 60th day: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA and company-paid life insurance. </li><li>Earn vacation time, and sick leave accrual from day one and paid holidays after 90 days. </li><li>401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days. </li><li>Additional benefits: pet insurance, parental leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more! </li></ul> What you'll do as a Mechanic II: <ul><li>Diagnose, remove, repair, replace, or rebuild clutches, water pumps, tires, tractor suspension, truck or trailer body repairs, rear differentials, drive lines, transmissions, wheel seals, brake systems, front wheel alignments, axle alignments on trailers. </li><li>Troubleshoot cooling systems. </li><li>Conduct diagnostic tests. </li><li>Cut or weld using cutting torch and welding machine. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Mechanic II: <ul><li>At least 18 years of age. </li><li>High school diploma or GED. </li><li>Driver's license. </li><li>2 to 4 years experience with diesel repairs, tractor-trailer repairs, and refrigeration maintenance and repairs. </li><li>At least 1 year of documented experience in fleet maintenance OR 1 year of employment with company at upper scale of Class C Technician. </li><li>Have basic hand tools (up to ½" drive) and tool storage. </li><li>Have (or acquire within 1 year from date of hire) a current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) (Test T8). </li><li>Certification with International Maxx Force 13 Engines. </li><li>Certification in Transportation Refrigeration. </li><li>Certification in brake systems and components; tractor A/C refrigeration and freon recovery (609 license required); trailer refrigeration 608 license (if working on trailer units); heavy-duty electrical diagnostics and repairs. </li><li>TA trade school graduate in heavy-duty diesel repairs and/or refrigeration classes is preferred for this position; beginning level is preferred. ASE Certification in heavy-duty mechanics and Cummins or Detroit certification are preferred. </li><li>A CDL-A is preferred for this position. </li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role.
