Description Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Nuclear Research Facility Technician to work at our Materials &amp; Fuels Complex (MFC).&nbsp; INL is recognized as the lead national laboratory for DOE-NE, providing much of the nuclear research, development, and demonstration capability needed to move nuclear innovation forward to deployment. MFC hosts a unique combination of personnel, facilities and infrastructure and offers the ability to perform research and development of nuclear fuels from fuel design and fabrication through post irradiation analysis. Responsibilities Include: Nuclear Research Facility Technicians in the Fuels Conditioning Facility at the Idaho National Laboratory perform a variety of work activities including tracking, packaging, transferring, receiving, storing/handling fissionable materials, handling/treating radioactive and hazardous material. Main functions of the position are: <ul><li>Operate and perform some maintenance on facility equipment and systems. Must be available for shop on-call rotation, and able to do road calls using a company vehicle.</li></ul> Qualifications you'll bring as a Mechanic III: <ul><li>Have High School Diploma or GED. Tech School classes or college-level equivalent training preferred.</li><li>Be 18 years or older.</li><li>Have 3 years job experience on major diesel repairs, heavy duty tractor- trailer repairs, major refrigeration maintenance and repairs.</li><li>Possess a Valid Class C Drivers License. Prefer Class A.</li><li>Requires at least a minimum of five years documented fleet maintenance experience in tractor/trailer repair or one-year employment with company at the upper scale of Class II Technician.</li><li>Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head for extended periods of time.</li><li>Must have the following certifications:<ul><li>A current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Brakes (Test T4).</li><li>A current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck Suspension and Steering (Test T5).</li><li>Thermo King Advanced training courses in multi temp units.</li><li>Cummins or Detroit certification in major overhaul and repairs.</li><li>Maxx Force 13 Engines.</li><li>Brake systems and components.</li><li>Tractor diagnostics and repairs.</li><li>Handling Freon 608 and 609.</li><li>Spicer-fuller, Eaton transmissions.</li><li>Spicer-fuller, Eaton differentials.</li><li>Electrical diagnostics and repairs.</li><li>Front suspension and alignment.</li><li>Welding and Fabrication.</li></ul></li><li>This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
