This position requires regular travel to various LSC campus sites to ensure accurate inventory management, compliance with internal policies, and adherence to governmental reporting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).&nbsp;&nbsp;ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Collaborates with VPADs and DOMs to establish guidelines for the logging, maintenance, retention, and disposition of fixed assets and related records for their campuses, as needed, and ensures compliance with those guidelines. Investigates non-standard situations and provides solutions and recommendations for equipment life cycle</li><li>Oversees the distribution of campus inventory tags for designated assets and equipment, and the replacement of damaged tags. Ensures inventory tags are used in sequential order to avoid duplicates or breaks in numerical order</li><li>Capitalizes assets (e.g., furniture, computers, basic equipment, vehicles, leases, etc.). May capitalize costs of improvements and betterments of existing assets. Maintains a standardized list of items to be treated as controlled assets</li><li>Determines whether property should be classified as an asset system, group asset, or individual property unit, and documents the classification accordingly. Establishes basic parent-child relationships for betterment accounting purposes</li><li>Prepares various reports using pre-established and standardized programs (e.g., Asset Listing, Table Listing, Transaction, Accounting, Insurance, Grant, Replacement Planning, Variance, etc.). May create and prepare new reports as needed</li><li>Records fixed assets acquired with grant funding. Follows guidelines and formal disposition instructions for grant funded assets exceeding Federal/State accountability levels</li><li>Leads scheduled and periodic physical inventories with campus VPADs and DOMs by locating and counting assets, uploading field inventory results, and reconciling discrepancies. Performs scheduled closing procedures. Executes scheduled depreciation processes and generates reports such as Current Valuation, Net Changes, Schedule of Assets, Depreciation Register, Asset Additions and Disposals, and Financial Adjustments</li><li>Coordinates with campus management to identify lost or stolen assets, conducts investigations, and submits reports related to alleged theft, misuse, or other property management issues. Retires and writes off unrecoverable assets as needed</li><li>May perform scheduled closing procedures. Runs scheduled depreciation procedures and generates reports (e.g., Current Valuation, Net Changes, Schedule of Assets, Depreciation Register, Asset Additions and Disposals, Financial Adjustments, etc.)</li><li>Arranges and completes physical transfer/disposal of surplus/obsolete items (working with vendors). Performs disposal transactions to remove assets from service.
