Instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:&nbsp;
Associate degree or higher in Medical Assisting plus CMA (AAMA) or RMA (AMT) credential and a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an ambulatory care setting performing administrative and clinical medical assisting duties.

Qualifications:&nbsp;Master’s degree or higher in a qualifying field or Master's degree or higher with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields including Health, Physical Education, Public Health, Wellness, Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or related field. Also needs to hold BLS certification with American Heart Association in order to teach Safety Education/First Aid/CPR.

Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in a qualifying field or Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields strongly preferred.&nbsp;
For limited number of non-transfer courses, a Bachelor's degree in a qualifying field with two or more of the following may be considered: documentation of professional certification (national, regional or state), documentation of professional employment, documentation of teaching excellence, documentation of research and publication, documentation of relevant additional coursework beyond Bachelor's degree equivalent to 18 graduate semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU's, military, vendor training, etc.
