Join us where you will be part of a dedicated team to manufacture high tech products, safely, accurately and efficiently, you will perform a variety of hands-on operations in accordance with standardized processes within customer specifications.Howmet is currently looking for a DS Casting Tech(s) to join our Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) group in Hampton, Virginia.&nbsp;New Hire Starting Rate: $20.26 p/hr.; After 6 months: $22.51 p/hr.This position will receive an hourly “shift premium” of $1.00 p/hr. while assigned to an off shift.Job Summary: The DS Casting Tech operates casting furnaces within allowable guidelines, schedules work by coordinating job and correct alloy, records and monitors all furnace melting process information, and follows schedules and completes work as required.Essential Functions &amp; Job Responsibilities:<ul><li>Operators and maintains casting furnaces.</li><li>Coordinates job numbers with correct alloy, weight, and temperature per PMS.</li><li>Ensures that charges are properly identified and corresponded to appropriate numbers and lot routers.</li><li>Transports ingots of alloy to work unit utilizing hoist to lift to specific areas and load into chamber box/charge box.</li><li>Handles molds from pre-heat furnace to casting furnace.</li><li>Monitors gauges to assure correct settings, accurate pour speed and appropriate crucible size for melting process.</li><li>Determines accurate pump down time to prescribed vacuum levels.</li><li>Replaces crucibles/packs crucibles using grog according to best practices.</li><li>Records temperature at unit and signals team operators to remove mold from preheat.</li><li>Cleans and removes all metal from splash guards, crucible blocks, and furnace.</li><li>Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but not limited to, regular attendance and assigned overtime.</li></ul>QualificationsBasic Qualifications:<ul><li>An application must include a resume and two professional references for review and consideration.</li><li>This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). &nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Applicants must have at least 2 years of continuous related manufacturing experience or training.
