
Position Summary
The Materials Manager is responsible for the timely ordering, acquisition and distribution of supplies and products including non-capital and capital inventory items within a total purchasing budget utilizing system software, inventory reports, and vendor negotiations. The Materials Manager provides a centralized distribution and control of supplies in addition to maintaining the Center’s inventory.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm PT
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the Materials Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Assures supplies and inventory are ordered expeditiously.
- Maintains appropriate level of inventory (PAR levels) throughout the facility.
- Ensures timely purchase order, processing, and acquisition of all approved supplies and products, including non-capital and capital inventory items.
- Works collaboratively with leadership to meet with vendors to obtain product and pricing information.
- Notifies leadership and contacts vendors when problems arise and seeks solutions as needed.
- Monitors vendor performance on an ongoing basis and discusses any issues with leadership.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of back orders, shipping dates and seeks alternative vendors as appropriate.
- Records price changes onto system and notifies appropriate individuals as necessary.
- Practices infection control and standard precautions as instructed.
- Performs special projects, cost comparisons and product research as requested.
- Performed other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
- 1-2 years related experience preferred.
- Experience in health care preferred.
