Responsibilities
The nature of this role is to help prevent damages. The Damage Prevention Specialist works as a liaison to the homeowner and/or contractor and the gas company.
- Practice safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
- Visit active job sites in a company-provided vehicle to communicate to contractors or homeowners about safe dig practices in accordance to 811 dig law
- Facilitate gas marking corrections and updates as needed
- Provide quality checks on utility markings
- Accurately complete detailed documentation of daily activities
- Assist in identifying marked utilities, structures and maps and in the field
- Perform operator-level maintenance on assigned company tools and equipment as required
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience with locating gas utilities is a plus, but not required
- Operator Qualification's or ability to obtain Operator Qualification's required
- Valid driver's license
- Work outdoors under the full range of weather conditions typically experienced throughout all seasons of the year
- Proficient communication verbal and written communication
