A Research Instructor position in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology at the University of Pittsburgh is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Roderick J. O’Sullivan. This is an Appointment Stream position. Research is focused on the interplay of telomeres and epigenetic/chromatin biology. The aim is to investigate how DNA repair and epigenetic pathways regulate telomere extension and cancer cell survival. The project involves molecular biology and genomics studies of telomere alterations and chromatin modifications at telomeres The long-term goal is to leverage mechanistic insights into telomere maintenance to improve anticancer therapies for ALT malignancies.

The candidate is expected to have conducted several years of postdoctoral research, experience in studying genome maintenance pathways, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Salary is commensurate with experience.
