Description:

The Business Analyst/Quality Assurance Analyst (BA/QA) candidate will be working within a team of developers, UI Designers and existing BAs and QAs. They will be responsible for creating requirements, developing project documents and testing applications in the MHS Information Portal (MIP) in support of Defense Healthcare Agency (DHA) initiatives.

This role has two main components - Business Analyst and Quality Assurance Analyst. Business Analyst responsibilities will cover requirements gathering, modeling analysis and defining all functional specifications during the beginning phases of the software development cycle. The Quality Assurance Analyst responsibilities will cover testing, implementation and support custom software applications used to support the company’s operations. The applicant will be involved in the full software development life cycle with primary focus on developing and executing test plans and automated tests. Responsibilities broken out below.

Responsibilities:

Manage the business requirements process - 50%

  • Gather and document business requirements and User Interface and Reporting specifications and design
  • Research and design functional specifications as requested through internal and external customers.
  • Develop, publish and implement use cases and technical requirements ((performance, scalability, security and usability) as required
  • Support the development of the functional specifications throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Serve as the testing liaison between the business and Technology Solutions – 50%

  • Support all testing efforts for multiple projects, including integration, system, regression, performance and user-acceptance testing.
  • Develop, execute and maintain test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test scripts
  • Document and evaluate test results and defects, track and manage defects and work with Development team and business to troubleshoot issues.
  • Provide testing estimates for assigned work.
  • Establish and maintain traceability of requirements through test plans and cases.
  • Partner with business analysts and project managers to ensure requirements are documented, understood, covered by tests and accurately tested.
  • Provide input on go / no-go decisions for production releases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems; or related field
  • 5 + years QA experience in an IT environment
  • 5 + years’ experience with formal test tools and common software quality test tools.
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience working in Agile environments (SAFe preferred)
  • Understanding of QA processes, practices and systems
  • Experience executing and coordinating integration, system, regression and user-acceptance testing
  • Demonstrated ability to work on concurrent projects, activities and tasks under time constraints
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team-based environments
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables
