<h2>Basic Purpose</h2>
The Continuous Improvement Specialist works directly with operations to drive positive change in our operation. This individual is responsible for engaging members of our team to solve problems and implement processes which prevent losses from reoccurring. This individual will work cross departmentally with operations, quality, maintenance and EHS to build a better organization every day. The Continuous Improvement Leader is a creative thinker who is able to inspire a team to challenge existing processes and develop more efficient ways of working.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Engage the operations team in the development of standard work</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Lead/facilitate Continuous Improvement brainstorming, prioritizing, or ideation sessions</li>
<li>Facilitate Kaizen events, project sessions, brainstorming, etc. events at shopfloor</li>
<li>Support development of standards &amp; training material</li>
<li>Facilitate Corrective And Preventative Action (CAPA) reviews with area stakeholders to identify root causes and prevent reoccurrence of issues </li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Manage and drive productivity projects for the assigned functional area</li>
<li>Teach LEAN tools &amp; principles to team members throughout the organization</li>
<li>Utilize LEAN methodologies and problem-solving tools to drive a structured approach to continuous improvement. </li>
<li>Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the functional area assigned</li>
<li>Own productivity projects which will deliver dollars to the bottom line</li>
<li>Develop dashboards &amp; reports as a power user of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES)</li>
</ul>

<h2>Minimum Requirements:</h2>
<ul>
<li>2- 5 years’ experience in a Plant Operations, Engineering, or Continuous Improvement role or related capacity</li>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering, industrial science, business, or another relevant field with an emphasis on manufacturing</li>
</ul>
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
<ul>
<li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures</li>
<li>Knowledge of basic LEAN principles</li>
<li>Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.</li>
<li>Familiar with basic computer concepts and operations; proficient on Microsoft Office Suites, </li>
<li>Ability to manage priorities and workflow, handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Ability to understand all safety requirements and cautions.</li>
<li>Ability to perform any necessary physical labor.</li>
<li>Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills: ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at various organizational levels.</li>

Continuous Improvement Specialist

WHAT YOU’LL DO EACH DAY:
<ul>
<li>Operate Blending and Milling Equipment to meet daily production and quality needs/expectations. </li>
<li>Respond to production problems and take appropriate corrective action. Make necessary mechanical adjustments.&nbsp; </li>
<li>Operate forklift to move material. </li>
<li>Complete required record keeping tasks.</li>
<li>Maintain work area and equipment according to the highest GMP’s, SOP’s and safety standards. </li>
<li>Be an active member of the Milling/Blending work team with emphasis on teamwork spanning all work shifts. </li>
<li>Continually strive for improvements in safety, quality and productivity. </li>
<li>Work with minimal supervision; must be responsible and able to timely initiate appropriate work activities. </li>
<li>Coordinate activities with Production Control. </li>
<li>Operate other packaging machines and/or work in other areas of the plant (in both the wet and dry tea facilities) in response to business needs. </li>
<li>Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary.</li>
<li>Follow all Food Safety guidelines, but not limited to:

Processing Operator (Swing)

WHAT YOU'LL DO EACH DAY:
<ul>
<li>Direct packaging functions of assigned equipment center.</li>
<li>Provide guidance and troubleshoot equipment in assigned work center. </li>
<li>Ensure correct and timely completion of all necessary production paperwork. </li>
<li>Train and develop new operators to efficiently and safely operate equipment.</li>
<li>Ensure quality and food safety GMPs are adhered to.</li>
<li>Assist Team Lead in covering task assignments for machine operators. </li>
<li>Communicate any necessary shift changes or machine issues occurring.</li>
<li>Execute any projects as expected in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Be an positive team member and participate in process improvements, quality, and initiatives.</li>
