Generally, we ask faculty to be involved in at least three of the following.<ul><li>Clinical counseling (e.g., private practice, pro bono clinical service, or supervision of post graduate LPCs). You are allowed 7.5 hours weekly to devote to clinical practice and may be able to practice from your TCSPP office. You may be asked to contribute time to a campus clinic. Clinical practice is considered equally valuable to your work as a professor as compared with other contributions.</li><li>Professional Service. Participation or leadership in a local, state, regional, or national division of the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counseling Association, or another reputable counseling organization. This is considered on equal value as other activities professors engage in.</li><li>Scholarly Activities. Research, publication and/or presentations on a scholarly topic of interest. Publications and presentations are both considered scholarly activity of equal value.</li><li>Grant Writing. Collaborating with the TCSPP Office of Sponsored Programs and other faculty in identifying and writing grants for external funding for scholarly or educational programs that support the counselor education department.</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Institutional Service (12%)<ul><li>Consult on the development and maintenance of a high quality clinical mental counseling health program consistent with CACREP standards.</li><li>Participate in interviewing prospective applicants.</li><li>Participate in new student orientation.</li><li>Participate in ongoing program development and continuous program assessment with other CMHC program faculty.</li><li>Participate in the Counselor Ed. department meetings.</li><li>Assist in the oversight of records management as needed.</li><li>Actively take ownership in gatekeeping function and supporting standards of professionalism articulated in the student handbook.</li></ul></li></ul>Position Qualifications:<ul><li>Doctorate in Counselor Education &amp; Supervision conferred by August 2023.</li><li>Prefer a candidate experienced with addictions, including Motivational Interviewing.</li><li>Clinical supervision experience.</li></ul><ul><li>Experience teaching in a graduate counseling program.</li><li>Prefer demonstrated success in teaching and supervising fieldwork setting.</li><li>Licensed as a LPC or LPC-Supervisor in Texas or willingness to pursue licensure in Texas.</li><li>Appreciation of innovation and creativity as a counselor educator.</li><li>Evidence of cultural humility and an appreciation for social justice and multi-cultural competencies and evidence of support for these in approach to teaching, supervision, and your commitment to decolonizing counselor education and the counseling profession.</li><li>Experience teaching career, assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and/or ethics a plus.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; BenefitsThis opportunity is budgeted at $$70,890 - $82,000 base compensation.
