In addition this faculty position may provide backup clinical coverage and resident supervision for the Empath Unit located on the campus of Eastern State Hospital. This program will help create a 24-hour coverage model multiple locations to increase access to psychiatric consults and care throughout the hospitals and Emergency Departments. This position will help provide a proactive consult for patients by placing psychiatrists in medical units throughout the two hospitals for early identification and intervention for behavioral disorders, substance abuse disorders, and psychiatric conditions.
