Position Summary: To provide quality instruction for student learning and to maintain a positive learning environment in the classroom. The major emphasis will be placed on teaching and evaluating students in the classroom and laboratories.

Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi. 2. Supervising the study and learning activities of students assigned. 3. Submitting requests through the department head, program coordinator, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids. 4. Evaluating the academic progress of students. 5. Demonstrating knowledge of services, regulations, and procedures as defined in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook. 6. Submitting course grades and performing other administrative duties as required. 7. Scheduling two office hours. For extenuating circumstances in which office hours cannot be scheduled, the adjunct faculty member must submit a written plan to the Dean describing how students can access the instructor. Office hours are not paid during the summer session.
 Required Qualifications: Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college/university with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the computer applications teaching field

Provides general assistance (gives directions, answers questions, provides information'etc.) to faculty, staff, students and visitors and projects a positive image of LSC by maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor. Requests assistance from LSC police officers for law enforcement matters, or off-campus police, fire, and EMS personnel as needed. Assists LSC Police Officers as directed within the scope of responsibility.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Patrols campus grounds and buildings on foot or in golf carts; reports safety hazards and physical security deficiencies verbally and in writing. Walks through buildings monitoring the hallways with attention to classroom activity to create a comfortable and safe academic environment. Makes written reports regarding suspicious activities</li><li>In conjunction with an LSC Police Officer, responds to medical or fire assistance requests, aiding the Officer and/or leading the responding EMS / Fire Department personnel to the appropriate location</li><li>Responds to low risk calls for service to assess scene and determine the need for police, fire, or EMS response</li><li>Stays vigilant in order to observe and report any need for police officer response</li><li>Periodically tours parking lot to ensure safety of property. Renders vehicle services in the form of jump-starts, vehicle door unlocks, and the calling of wreckers as requested</li><li>Monitors and responds to fire alarms, checks fire extinguishers while on patrol to ensure that they are in place and charged, and reports those that need maintenance</li><li>Enforces LSC and location regulations of a non-law enforcement nature (parking, smoking, etc.)</li><li>Upon request, ensures faculty and staff have access to the facilities they need to perform their job.
