The Senior Director is responsible for executing a major gift fundraising strategy that supports both current-use and endowment fundraising objectives, while integrating planned, leadership and annual giving strategies as required. Job-Specific Responsibilities: <ul><li>Directs the Institute’s major gifts and planned giving program and manages a team of fundraisers responsible for raising gifts in the 5-7 figure range. Oversight includes leadership gifts ($5K+), major gifts ($100K+) and planned giving. Responsibilities include management, supporting professional development, onboarding, fundraiser training and education in industry best practices, developing, deploying, and monitoring performance metrics for all team members, and providing formal feedback to staff in annual performance reviews.</li><li>Actively manages a portfolio of approximately 50 major gifts prospects and consistently secures philanthropic support at the mid-six and seven-figure levels. Conducts 50+ donor visits per year.</li><li>Leads regular prospect strategy sessions to drive major gift closures, ensuring that philanthropic potential is optimized through the development of appropriate cultivation and solicitation strategies.</li><li>Effectively manages involvement of the Dean, Associate Dean, and senior leaders with donor cultivation; including preparation of annual pipelines, strategic briefings prior to visits and arranging for appropriate follow up from visits and events.</li><li>Coordinates closely with the Director of Donor Engagement to set strategy on the following:<ul><li>Leadership giving program and solicitation strategy for donors in fundraiser portfolios</li><li>Regional cultivation events&nbsp;</li><li>Fundraiser resources (talking points, external communications pieces etc.)</li></ul></li><li>Serves as the liaison to University Development Office (UDO) as well as Alumni Development Services (ADS) prospect management and research teams.&nbsp; Oversees the prospect assignment process and makes recommendations with regard to allocation of frontline resources, in consultation with the Associate Dean.</li><li>Data integrity: Manages to University guidelines for the department with regard to proposal management, prospect tracking, strategy notes and stage codes.</li><li>Engages regularly with Institute programming, identifying opportunities to highlight content and disseminating information to team members and donors.&nbsp;</li><li>Working with the Dean, program directors and colleagues in ER, helps identify and articulate fundraising HRI needs and priorities. Provides support and training as needed to partnering high school teachers, interns, and volunteers on the MEDscience curriculum and pedagogy. Job Description The Silver Lab in the Systems Biology Department at Harvard Medical School seeks an energetic, enthusiastic, and multi-talented individual to work as a Research Assistant II. This position will work on a range of projects relating to health and sustainability utilizing genetic circuit design in prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells and protein function design, including the design of potential therapeutics. Research techniques that will be utilized to carry out this project include: designing genetic circuits for bacteria cells; transforming bacteria cells; culturing and chemical induction of bacteria populations; performing bulk fluorescence measurement assays; performing flow cytometry; storing data; and performing data analysis. The position will also assist in maintaining an organized collection of plasmids and data collection protocols suitable for transfer to others including outside agencies. The employee should be able to conduct and analyze their research with guidance from their mentor.&nbsp;The individual will participate in group meetings and collaborate in writing papers and reports to funding agencies. They will attend seminar series within HMS and take part in the scientific and intellectual life of the lab, Harvard Medical School, and the Wyss Institute at Harvard University. Close collaboration with lab members and staff from both Systems Biology and the Wyss Institute is critical to these efforts. Job Description Job Summary:The Facilities Manager will assist the Director of Facilities with the general management of the campus buildings; physical plant operations; oversight of the various service contracts; preventive and predictive maintenance programs; and safety and code compliance issues. The Facilities Manager will assist in the management of a broad range of operational components for the department including personnel, budgets, policies and procedures, projects, and institutional events. This role will ensure high quality of service and timely response to requests; oversee minor capital projects as well as building and system repairs by outside contractors as assigned. This position is an essential personnel position at Dumbarton Oaks and is required to work even when other staff may be off duty. 
Job Specific Responsibilities:<ul><li>Manage work procedures and exercise oversight of custodial, janitorial and housekeeping staff in the Facilities Department, including housing and all related requirements.</li><li>Conduct evaluations and annual performance reviews; provide training and coaching; implement progressive discipline and any follow-up requirements for supervised staff.</li><li>Inspect the buildings on established schedule to identify maintenance issues. Plan and organize maintenance, inspections, and cleaning with reference to the academic year and scholarly program calendar in communication with the Manager of Academic Programs.</li><li>Support events (most of which are in the evening and on weekends) including oversight of maintenance of equipment, service of food and drink, and the installation and de-installation of events, in close collaboration with the Events Manager.</li><li>Assist in the management of service agreements and contractors hired to perform Facilities-related work for Dumbarton Oaks, including the establishment of scope of services and work to be performed, acquisition of bids, participation in the selection of vendors, inspection of work performed, and verification and approval of invoices.</li><li>Assist in the planning, preparation and maintenance of operating budgets, including invoice processing and timesheet management.</li><li>Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan to ensure optimal building performance and minimize unexpected downtime.</li><li>Supervise mail room and central receiving operations, including processing and distribution of received items and shipment of outgoing items and all other related items. Provide oversight of vehicle maintenance.</li><li>Serve as key departmental contact/user and ensure training and implementation by Facilities staff of shared IT systems and applications that support collaboration and communication with other departments (FIIX, Salesforce, etc.).</li><li>Serve as the primary application owner responsible for enforcing best practices and protocols related to the security of systems and processes, including Building Management System “BMS” applications and third-party vendors.</li><li>Under the guidance of the Director of Facilities, collaborate with other departments at to ensure effective communications and achievement of departmental goals.</li><li>Other duties and projects as required.</li></ul> 
 
Physical Requirements:Must be able to perform the duties of the position, including but not limited to inspecting multi-level historic buildings (not all of which are easily accessible) and oversee personnel; lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
