As part of Team Amex, you'll experience this powerful backing with comprehensive support for your holistic well-being and many opportunities to learn new skills, develop as a leader, and grow your career.Here, your voice and ideas matter, your work makes an impact, and together, you will help us define the future of American Express.How will you make an impact in this role?This position will be a key member of the American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) Line of Business Compliance Team (LOBCO), primarily supporting Small Business Card products.&nbsp; The successful candidate will provide second line of defense compliance oversight for this core area of the GCS business.&nbsp;&nbsp;The compliance efforts for this position will have a particular focus on overseeing compliance risks related to new/modified products with Cobrand partners, marketing collateral, offers, benefits, and rewards development and fulfillment, customer communications for commercial products, features and processes, as well as supporting Compliance Program deliverables related to these areas.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Providing 2nd&nbsp;line credible challenge to protect American Express while overseeing business colleagues as they work toward their objectives.</li><li>Supporting implementation of policy and regulatory requirements in the areas of UDAP, Fair Lending, general credit card practices, general banking, and other relevant federal, state and local regulations.</li><li>Analyzing new and/or enhanced products and services as part of the New Product Development process to assess compliance risks, new/enhanced controls, and ensure adherence with regulatory requirements.</li><li>Reviewing and providing effective challenge to the business on marketing and advertising material including required disclosures.</li><li>Reviewing and providing effective challenge of Compliance Issues, Risk Events, and customer remediation for timely closure of gaps where required.</li><li>Participating in the Compliance Risk Assessment process to ensure that the appropriate risks are identified and that the strength of the control environment is evaluated in accordance with Compliance Program standards.</li><li>Liaising as required with the relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to:&nbsp;General Counsel’s Organization, other Compliance teams, Independent Compliance Testing team, Control Management, Internal Audit, Financial Crimes Compliance, and Privacy Office.</li><li>Evaluating third-party compliance risk of vendors contracted to perform services on behalf of American Express.</li><li>Assisting in preparation for regulatory inquiries and examinations.</li><li>Additional responsibilities based on team needs.</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum 5-7 years experience in Compliance or related activities, within the financial services industry.</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree required</li><li>Strong regulatory knowledge of the financial regulations applicable to U.S. credit card products and commercial lending including UDAP, Fair Lending, sales and marketing practices, and other relative banking laws/regulations.</li><li>Prior credit card industry, compliance, legal, or risk experience is a plus.</li><li>In-depth knowledge and understanding of compliance risk management practices and methodologies, including risk and control assessments.</li><li>Proven ability to build rapport, garner respect and appropriately exercise authority in a collaborative environment.</li><li>Professional maturity and confidence in expressing a point of view with management.</li><li>Ability to identify and understand key risks, issues and trends and to develop meaningful information and effective challenge to share with first line of defense and second line of defense leadership.</li><li>The ability to multi-task and prioritize in a highly deadline-intensive environment is required.</li><li>Excellent written, verbal, research, analytical, and interpersonal skills.</li><li>CRCM certification is preferred.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Advanced degree preferred.</li></ul>Salary Range: $89,250.00 to $150,250.00 annually + bonus + benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
