By collaborating with library, government, and academic institutions to publish their knowledge collections as AI training sets, IDI seeks to 1) empower those institutions and the cultures they represent, 2) build a foundational pipeline for academic inquiry of AI, and 3) advance the state of the art for all builders of AI systems.&nbsp;IDI’s work spans the AI data ecosystem—from digitization, data structuring, and metadata synthesis, to safety and security analysis, all the way through to benchmarking and the development of ethical and governance frameworks. Institutional collaboration forms the gateway to this work and IDI places a particular emphasis on opportunities with institutions that expand the cultural breadth of knowledge represented in the building blocks of AI.&nbsp;At its core, IDI is a data practice around which other interdisciplinary work is convened. Essential Roles &amp; Responsibilities, not limited to: Production Skills 20% <ul><li>Coordinates workflow through department on a daily basis to meet production schedule.</li><li>Ensures daily production goals are met in both quantity and quality.</li><li>Utilizes production methods that reduce cost and increase productivity.</li><li>Observes and adheres to standards of performance, identifies and reports shortfalls to supervisor.</li><li>Ensures maintenance of equipment by application of TPM or other methods.</li></ul> Leadership 30% <ul><li>Upholds and demonstrates Howmet’s values in approach to work, decision making and interpretations of ethical guidelines and polices for subordinates.</li><li>Maintains relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors, external and internal customers, promotes teamwork within and between departments.</li><li>Accepts and seeks individual/self-developmental opportunities.</li><li>Works on assigned projects to meet department goals and objectives.</li></ul> Communications 15% <ul><li>Communicates verbally and in writing to peers, superiors, internal and external customers and suppliers.</li><li>Maintains communication during shift turnover through the use of turnover sheets, updated status boards or other verbal and written means.</li><li>Make and receives verbal and written assignments.</li><li>Conduct meetings with team members.</li></ul> Operator Skills 5% <ul><li>Working knowledge of all non-certified operations in department.</li></ul> Scheduling 15% <ul><li>Executes assignment instructions for work during shift to align for changes, absences, equipment downtime, or necessary overtime.</li><li>Coordinates scheduling needs with Shared Resources, Central Stores, Tool Room, and Maintenance</li></ul> Work Systems 5% <ul><li>Ensures adherence to work systems to include work instructions, labor reporting, visual controls and Integrated Process Control, and audits.</li></ul> Training 5% <ul><li>Identifies, evaluates, and documents training, communicates needs to supervisor.</li><li>Trains operators utilizing one on one training method or other techniques.</li></ul> Safety 5% <ul><li>Monitors work environment for safety issues and acts to correct problems</li><li>Utilizes the 5S program to maintain a clean and safe workplace.</li><li>Follow Howmet’s Safety Regulations and Work Rules Handbook along with all departmental specific safety requirements.</li><li>Must comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and occasional overtime.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul> Basic Qualifications: <ul><li>This position requires a minimum of one-year of manufacturing experience.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be able to provide documentation in the original form establishing both your identity and your employment eligibility in the U.S.</li><li>This position entails access to export-controlled items you must be able to lawfully obtain access to such items.</li></ul> Education: <ul><li>This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications: <ul><li>Prior manufacturing experience in a leadership role preferred.</li></ul> Howmet Aerospace Inc.
