Title: Adjunct Instructor – Occupational Therapy Assistant (Pool)
POSITION SUMMARY This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in an equitable environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach courses via on-ground, online and hybrid or web-enhanced delivery modes as assigned, including classroom and clinical instruction. Work with course leads and/or program coordinators to ensure consistent and equitable student experiences. Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students. Submit updated department syllabus prior to the first day of class. Regularly check College email account and department mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours, except on weekends. Complete all required reports, such as attendance, Early Alerts, student progress reports, grade submissions, and administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the deadlines. Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar. Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree and COTA certification or registration as an OTR occupational therapist
Current licensure/certification
Evidence of clinical expertise in a related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS College level teaching experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of and/or experience with a variety of instructional delivery modes, including synchronous and asynchronous online teaching. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse student, faculty and staff population. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Rate of Pay: $650.00 - $740.00 per credit hour

General Function:&nbsp;
EMT-Paramedic Instructor Assistant shall mean an individual capable of teaching the application of practical skills to include assisting the faculty in the delivery of instruction, evaluating student performance of skills, maintenance of equipment, and coordinating with the faculty or Instructor/Coordinator to maintain adequate levels of needed equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Currently licensed as a Tennessee EMT-Paramedic, registered nurse, or physician without a history of revocation, denial or suspension of licensure.
2. Licensed experience with a minimum of two years practicing advanced life support in the pre-hospital or emergency department environment.
3. Minimum of two years’ experience in EMS education administration or greater than seventy-five (75) hours of EMS instruction.
4. Current endorsement in an EMS Board-approved trauma, cardiac and pediatric course as an instructor.
5. Completion of an EMS Board-approved instructors’ assistant course.
Authorization Renewal shall be contingent upon:
1. Assisting with at least forty-five (45) hours of advanced EMS instruction on an annual basis.
2. Maintaining current Tennessee licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic, Registered Nurse or Physician.
3. Current endorsement in an EMS Board-approved trauma, cardiac and pediatric course as an instructor.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Teach courses as assigned in accordance with the catalog description and the approved course syllabus; Teach dual enrollment classes at area high school as assigned; Travel to multiple campuses as assigned</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, Department Lead, and curriculum chair about curricular and programmatic issues and needs</li>
<li>Collaborate collegially with faculty, administration and staff to support the students, strategic plan, goals and business operations of the college; Work collegially as part of both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary teams</li>
<li>Stay abreast of current developments in the teaching discipline including scholarship, creative research, disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities that focus on the boundaries of knowledge, community-based scholarship, creative activities, and the development of cutting-edge teaching approaches</li>
<li>Teach up to 12credit hours per semester as assigned</li>
<li>Maintain availability for meetings with students and colleagues as needed throughout the semester.</li>
<li>Respond promptly to the Dean’s requests</li>
<li>Submit all requested paperwork timely and completely</li>
<li>Perform all duties in accordance with both TBR and MSCC policies</li>
