Position Summary: The overall purpose of this job is: The Testing Center is responsible for the testing activities of PSCC. These primarily include administration, proctoring and proper security of testing materials. We also administer basic skills assessment tests, class testing for teachers including on line courses, testing for off campus agencies, other colleges and universities and the administration of DSST and CLEP exams.
Typical Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
85% Test Administration
1. Operates Testing Centers with or without Testing Technician I (checks in students, pulls student tests, finds passwords, handles student/instructor concerns, seats examinees, helps examinees log-on to computers, starts timing instruments as needed, collects completed tests and testing materials, watches examinees to ensure administration conditions are met in the Testing Centers, etc.).
2. Successfully complete requirement necessary to achieve certification to administer a number of standardized exams, such as CLEP, DSST, Pearson-Vue and HISET.
3. Explains individual testing requirements to students—procedures and resolves any misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques. 4. Collaborate with faculty regarding test revisions, availability of tests, and guidelines and testing options for various tests.
5. Prepare an Incident Report to document irregularities, testing discrepancies, or dishonesty and forward report and copies of pertinent materials to faculty and Test Supervisor.
6. Maintains an optimal testing environment that adheres to college, standardized and National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards.
7. Collaborates with Supervisor, Test Administrators, and other testing staff regarding improving/changing testing operations, staffing, and updating of Testing Center policies and procedures.
8. Provides information, clarification and advice to testing staff regarding test delivery, policies, procedures, test retrieval and use of specialized computer testing software.
9. Interprets often complicated procedures for administration of proctored tests from other colleges/universities and standardized testing companies; and comprehends delivery methods for several categories of tests, including classroom make-up, Internet, CBT, essays, pre-GED, and other remote/proctored exams delivered paper/pencil or computer-based format.
10. Helps maintain security and accountability of tests before, during, and after testing in compliance with established guidelines.

JOB SUMMARY

EQUIPMENT
Work activities routinely involves work with personal computers and peripheral devices. Math lab tutoring involves moving between lab computers and circulating the room to proctor students.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge or willingness to train in Statistics, Pre-Algebra, College Algebra, Precalculus, and Applied Calculus.

JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of the Math Lab Student Tutor is to provide content-specific assistance in the learning process to individuals or groups of students. This position requires the student employee to have excellent communication, social skills and the ability to adapt his or her teaching methods to meet the needs of each student.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
<ul>
<li>Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to provide them with academic tutoring to improve their understanding of content, at all levels.</li>
<li>Use various teaching strategies for tutoring.</li>
<li>Monitor students while testing.</li>
<li>Motivate and support students through positive feedback and reinforcement.</li>
</ul>
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Tutors may be asked to assist with additional tasks to support various departments in the college.
EQUIPMENT
Work activities routinely involves work with personal computers and peripheral devices. Math lab tutoring involves moving between lab computers and circulating the room to proctor students.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Knowledge in Statistics, Precalculus, or Calculus.
JOB STANDARDS/QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>High school Diploma or equivalency.&nbsp;
<ul>
<li>An A grade of A or B in the relevant course (e.g., a grade of A in Math 1530 Introductory Statistics for a statistics tutor).</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Clear communication of subject matter material(s).</li>
<li>Ability to work with virtual meeting platforms.</li>
<li>Collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.</li>
</ul>
JOB LOCATION
&nbsp;Math Lab Tutors will be assigned to either the main campus of Cleveland State or the McMinn Higher Education Center in Athens.&nbsp;

Job Specifications: Must be able to accurately perform clerical duties, provide and record information through written and oral communication and understand and carry out directions. Failure to meet deadlines could result in delay. Education and Experience: High school education or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience gained from working in an office environment. Certifications/Licensures: N/A. Skill Requirements: Operate various office equipment, including a personal computer and appropriate software packages or equivalent, faxes, copiers and switchboard as needed. Requires proficiency in College supported software. Should possess good communication, interpersonal and clerical skills. Should be able to tactfully and courteously answer questions and provide information. Physical Requirements, if applicable: Must be able to work in a general office environment with the ability to sit for at least 2 hours without interruption. Current criminal record/child abuse clearances required. Duties: 1. Prepares correspondence, reports and other materials. 2. Screens phone calls; receives and directs visitors; receives, sorts and delivers mail; receives and responds to student requests. 3. Maintains files, records, logs and reports. 4. Performs various scheduling activities for supervisors and staff; schedules, coordinates and proctors student evaluations and tests as needed. 5. Maintains and orders supplies. 6. Computes and processes payroll for assigned faculty and staff; handles the receipt of disbursement of cash during registration and for petty cash purposes as necessary. 7. Prepares bulk mailings and participates in clerical activities for various college events. 8. Assists with training temporary or part-time employees and may assign their work. 9.Performs other related duties as required or assigned. DUTIES WILL VARY DEPENDING ON THE TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT. Clearances: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
