GENERAL DUTIES: The Technology Foundations Instructor provides classroom support. This position should ensure student training is conducted utilizing all appropriate safety measures. Potential applicants with varied work experience may qualify to facilitate in more than one program.
Minimum Qualifications
The Technology Foundations Instructor shall have a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Education or subject area to be taught from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three years’ teaching experience.&nbsp; The applicant shall have the ability to teach Basic Math, Reading Comprehension, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Blue Print Reading; shall have excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; and shall be able to prove curriculum development experience in the area of basic skills for the adult learner; and have the ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.&nbsp; The position will work under the supervision of the Instruction and Accreditation Vice President. &nbsp;&nbsp;

Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of the technical occupation being taught, considerable knowledge of the principles and methods of good teaching and supervision, as evidenced by a rating of education and experience.

General Duties
The Technology Foundation Instructor is responsible to the institution administration and shall be responsible for planning, developing, and initiating an instructional program to complement the occupational-related preparatory needs of the student.&nbsp; He/she shall present the program to meet the student’s preparatory needs, prepare visual aid materials, and work with the administrative staff to promote sound philosophy, and harmonious working relations among the entire college staff, the student body, and business/industry.&nbsp; In addition, the technology instructor shall be responsible to the institutional administration for effective performance of his/her assigned responsibilities.
Specific Duties
Develop the following:
<ul>
<li>Develop an effective course of study, including experiments, job sheets, assignment sheets, information sheets, audio-visual aids and related materials which moves from the simple to the complex.</li>
<li>Coordinate with the instructors of each program area to develop courses of&nbsp;studies that complement and enhance the shop or classroom learning experience.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Develop and execute student evaluations based on objectives of the course, including tracking of student progress.</li>
<li>Strive to develop in the student a positive attitude toward his training, fellow workers, future employers and encourage good work habits.</li>
<li>Develop a procedure for handling individual interests and problems of the students.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Administer initial testing of new students in math and reading; share results of testing with program instructors.</li>
</ul>

<li>Review aptitude tests and personal records of students for a better understanding of his personal traits and may interview students prior to enrollment.</li>
<li>Impress upon students the importance of proper dress and general personal appearance as related to obtaining employment and progressing thereafter.</li>
<li>Provide for supervision of the class when it becomes necessary to leave the classroom or shop for any length of time.</li>
<li>Report promptly any student offense which requires the attention of the administration.</li>
<li>Participate in in-service training, workshops, and other programs which provide for professional growth.</li>
<li>Teach the Work Ethics curriculum.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the administration.</li>

Submit updated and accurate syllabi prior to the first day of class. Regularly check college email and departmental mailbox. Respond to emails/messages within 24 hours, except on the weekend. Complete all required reports such as attendance, early alerts, progress reports, and grade submissions. Administer and return questionnaires and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines. Prepare and analyze data for student outcome assessments as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree in Psychology or
Master’s degree in another discipline with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Psychology.

Demonstrated understanding of the community college mission and needs of the student population.
Documented experience teaching college level Psychology courses.
Documented experience teaching Psychology courses in a variety of modalities including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.
Demonstrated experience incorporating current technologies into teaching.
Ability to assist adjunct instructors with their course materials and questions.
Ability to teach in both a seven-week and a fifteen-week format.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of and experience teaching using a variety of instructional delivery modes. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with a wide range of faculty, staff and student population. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant instructional technologies.

Job Summary
The Practical Nursing instructor is responsible for the following areas including, but not limited to: teaching and supervision of nursing students in on-campus classroom and off-campus clinical settings; evaluating and advising students; maintaining confidential, accurate and complete records on paper and electronically; completing reports as required in a timely manner; participating in the development of the program; participating in the recruitment of new students and placement of graduates; maintaining an active advisory committee; and other duties as assigned. Clinical hours vary. Travel to other campuses and alternate clinical sites may be required. This position reports to the Health Sciences Education Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: Candidate must possess at least an Associate Degree in Nursing and hold a current Registered Nursing license in good standing with the State of Tennessee. Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience as an RN or Allied Health instructor within the last five (5) years OR two (2) years of experience as an RN within the last five (5) years and 24 credit hours toward a higher degree in nursing Evidence in instructional program management and supervision, teaching and curriculum building is desired.
