Job Summary
The Academic Advisor Director position provides leadership and coordination of academic advising and student services within a designated college or colleges. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality, student-centered advising; monitoring academic progress and implementing targeted interventions; and supporting student success from entry through graduation. In collaboration with advising leadership, the position contributes to strategic advising initiatives, ensures alignment with university policies and best practices, and supports data-informed decision-making. The role also oversees key student services operations, partners across academic and administrative units, and supervises advising staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. Through a combination of direct student support, operational coordination, and leadership, this position advances student success, persistence, and overall effectiveness of the advising unit.
Student Success will, from the time of early college outreach to graduation and beyond, support students in living a life of meaning and purpose. From a student-centered framework, our practice will be grounded in peer-reviewed literature, national best practices, and data-informed decision-making. Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.
