Accounting Tech 2 – Accounts Payable

Job Description: Under direct supervision, performs paraprofessional accounting and fiscal control functions, such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll preparation, budget monitoring or related general accounting processes.

All District 4 Public Health, County BOH employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

• Manages accounts payable
• Cuts checks for 12 counties and District Office
• Vendor Management for all 12 counties and District Office
• Ensures PO packets are received correctly and timely for payment
• Ensures completeness of travel forms prior to payment
• Processes ACH payments, positive pay files/exceptions, travel checks, and travel direct deposits
• Processes 1099’s
• Assist other finance team members to complete clerical and administrative tasks as needed
• Customer service liaison to counties for financial needs or operational needs
• Assist District Administrator as needed

Accounting Tech 2

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related accounting or fiscal experience; OR one (1) year of experience at the lower-level Accounting Technician 1 (FIT020) or equivalent position

Preferred Qualifications:

• Three years or more general accounting experience
• Three years or more accounts payable experience
• Knowledge of relevant accounting software
• Three years or more purchasing/procurement experience
