The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) is seeking applicants for a full-time Administrative Assistant in the Outreach & Training Department. This position reports to the Associate Executive Director of Outreach & Training and will be headquartered in IASB’s Springfield office.

Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for initiating and performing the functions required for the efficient operation of an office and supporting Outreach & Training directors and the team to provide new and existing services to IASB members.

Education and/or Experience Requirements: The Administrative Assistant, Outreach & Training position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and/or relevant administrative support experience; associate’s degree is preferred. Candidates should possess exceptional organizational abilities and communication skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy, proofreading skills, and the ability to work independently and take initiative to start and finish projects. Additional skills include meeting planning and the ability to learn and use new software, including survey and group email platforms. Other requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and database management (NetForum AMS).

The employee must have a valid Illinois drivers’ license and a vehicle; mileage and reasonable travel reimbursement will be provided.

This position requires the employee to be able to be able to lift, move, and safely handle boxes and materials up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions of the position.

The position offers an annual salary of $36,000 – $45,000, with a generous benefits package that includes holidays, vacation and sick time, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and retirement benefits. Position will be eligible for Hybrid work after 90-days of employment.
