Job Summary

The College of Communication and Information is seeking a highly organized and detail—oriented Administrative Support Associate I to join the College Administrative Support team. The College provides a dynamic environment for teaching, research, and service opportunities, serving faculty, staff, students and guests across the college. This Administrative Support Associate role is a vital part of the team, supporting essential administrative daily operations to ensure the smooth management of key processes. This highly visible position will be responsible for greeting visitors and serving as the main point of contact for guests and prospective students and families visiting the college in the newly renovated Pence Hall. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, work well in a team environment, and ensure confidentiality when working with all communities representing the college.

About the College:

The College of Communication and Information comprises two schools (School of Information Science and School of Journalism and Media), two departments (Department of Communication and Department of Integrated Strategic Communication), and interdisciplinary master’s and PhD programs. Nearly 100 full-time faculty lead 2,300 undergraduate majors and 350 graduate students while also teaching in the university’s core curriculum and serving students pursuing minors and certificates in the college. The college also houses University of Kentucky’s student newspaper, The Kentucky Kernel, and the championship winning Intercollegiate Debate program.
