Job Summary

This position acts as a service agent to provide basic financial counseling to patients admitted into Eastern State Hospital. It will assists the Business office department in a busy hospital behavior healthcare setting. Must have general knowledge of basic behavior health regulations, basic financial counseling background and a basic knowledge of scheduling referral appointments. The following skills are needed in the position: Has a keen attention to details, as this is required for both receiving and filling paperwork for a patient and when entering information into a hospital’s computer system; work as a team player to make certain the patient receives the best possible experience. An understanding of medical terminology; a working knowledge and ability to use all necessary office equipment; be proficient in windows-based technologies (ex. Word, Excel).



Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask with a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; proficient in Microsoft Office, to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel; excellent communication skills (both written and verbal; demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service; solid time management, problem solving, critical thinking, follow-through, and planning and organizational skills are all critical to the success in this position and a high level of respect for confidentiality and diversity are a must.
