With your strong organizational skills, you will be able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously that vary in degree of preparation and who the target audience is.What You'll DoReporting to the Assistant Vice President - Alumni & Community Engagement, you'll step into the role of Alumni Engagement Officer, providing essential support in connecting with our vibrant alumni community. Your mission will be to assist in cultivating a pipeline of involvement and a trajectory of giving among our valued alumni and volunteers. Leveraging industry best practices, you'll be instrumental in supporting high-impact engagement touchpoints.You'll be a key contributor to the team's objectives focused on strengthening alumni participation rates in engagement initiatives. You'll also assist in strategically incorporating a philanthropic element into relevant events and programs. A significant aspect of your role will involve supporting the creation of programming and events that resonate with a diverse audience primarily alumni, donors, and friends of the University. These initiatives will strategically align with core institutional objectives and will feature participation from key stakeholders, including the President, Vice President, Deans, University staff, administration, and faculty, as appropriate.In this capacity, you will also provide crucial general support to all alumni engagement initiatives for the University. You will be responsible for assisting in identifying and implementing innovative strategies to increase alumni engagement throughout the academic year. You'll also play a vital role in identifying alumni highlights and spotlights for story creation, helping us share the amazing accomplishments of our graduates.Essential Functions:• Performs a variety of assignments and analyses that support all aspects of the engagement cycle.• Understands key functional drivers and uses this understanding to accomplish/complete own work.• Solves problems in straightforward situations.• Assists in curating and managing a comprehensive series of alumni engagement programs.• Supports the strategic coordination of relationships to reconnect alumni with the university.• Assists in supporting the UTEP Alumni Association endeavors.• Helps create, coordinate, and implement effective communication vehicles, encompassing both print and electronic formats, to actively foster enhanced engagement and facilitate information sharing with alumni.• Cross-collaborates with all internal teams in Institutional Advancement and Campus Partners for matters of alumni engagement.• Excellent oral and written communication skills.• Ability to develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with alumni.• Acquires data from alumni engagement touchpoints.• Keeps track of engagement activities and plans accordingly for successful engagement initiatives.• Works within standardized functional procedures and practices to achieve objectives and leads communications with all Institutional Advancement units to meet established deadlines and goals.• Solves routine and complex problems and identifies new, less obvious solutions and/or provides recommendations.• Uses discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results and/or improve efficiency.• Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.• Complies with all State and University policies.• Other duties may be assigned; specific roles may have additional responsibilities due to the nature of the specific role/division/unit.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
